I wonder why they didn't use ponies they made? I mean thats so strange.  Or could it be that the pony was picked during the drawing and planning stage with the intention to make the pony later and somehow the pony was never made?  I was thinking that the merchandise would have already been made and ready to circulate, but the pony was somehow missed.  I agree that her name must include the word Bubbles...but what else with it.  Pinkie Bubbles sounds silly ... ROFLOL

Its probably simply that those creating the items didnt know any better. Most merch was licensed so those designing it would be creating the same items with lots of different themes - MLP, Barbie, Transformers, etc.

Black and white line art along with colour outlines should have been provided by Hasbro to their licensees but I think from a lot of the merch we see, these were not always obeyed or could simply have been misinterpreted.

I have that one too, a couple of different wallets and things were made with the same embossed paper medallion.
Best guess is that it's supposed to be Bubbles, but OMG GIRLZ WILL ONLY BUY PINK OR PURPLE PONIES.  So they changed it to be more girly. *shrug*
