Ack, these are starting to temp me more and more! I totally need the yellow one, but the pink and blue ones are cute too.

I am curious where the box art is from. Do you think they just repainted Celestia yellow?

Based on previous fakie packaging...and counterfeit items in general...cheap photoshop editing I would guess.

I love the box art-  they look smaller than FS... maybe more the size of G1s or G3s  I LOVE That everypony (cept applejack) is an Alicorn!
I don't love that the ponies themselves look like they have receding hairlines...

They are still fun- but the packaging is way over the line- at least in the US (and I suspect UK) if you tried to sell something like that on ebay- the auction would be ended immediately once ebay caught wind.

Unless Hasbro or another ebay user complained an auction probably wouldn't be stopped - honestly throughout G3 I have seen equally close copies of logos and ponies on plenty of pony packaging sold in the UK, US and elsewhere.

You are probably right- unless the seller appeared to have a lot of inventory, sporadic re-sells of fakes- even blatant infringement fakes- would probably not catch anyone's attention.

I have to say that although I have an appreciation for fakies (particularly those ones that look like Hippos, or with the teeth- or the evil eye ponies) - these are a little TOO close...  It's fine so long as they are only available on Taobao- makes it likely that only zany pony collectors would collect them - but if they were widely available through a local dollar store or even ebay- I would not be happy.  The product is just too similar-  if they sold it for cheaps- kids might buy these instead of authentic ponies- which would make the line less successful- potentially impacting future product development.

I guess it doesn't sound like there is much fear of that so far.

If they turn up anywhere they will turn up at the low low end of the market - dollar stores and pound stores - it tends to be a different enough market that it wont damage the "official" line.
