Wow- some awesome photos  !  I love the butterflies and bees and that dragonfly likes like a jewel...
I love Mantises.

(I am glad I didn't try and touch the saddlebacks- the spikes were a bit off-putting, luckily) :D

I'm loving all of these!  I am really fond of snails, slugs, and moths in particular.  I must dig out some of my photos!

This is officially Best Thread Ever! Amazing photgraphs :)

I am so jealous of you who have found bugs in more exotic locations. That stick insect looks uncannily like a subadult female Heteropteryx dilatata but they are Malaysian. Would deffo love some more info on size and location if that's possible?

These are great pictures, everyone! I particularly like the pictures of the snails, but they are all so fascinating!

That was definitely a subadult Heteropteryx dilatata-  I know they are often referred to as "Malasian Jungle Nymphs" but they also definitely live in Thailand-  This particular cutie was hanging out in the jungle surrounding Cheow Lan Lake in Khao Sok National Park (I highly highly highly recommend if you are are into bugs and birds and don't mind roughing it a bit)

I estimate she was probably about 6" long- that is my snorkel mask case she is walking on- she was very easily upset (she would lash out with her thorny bum) and the guide told me (falsely it turns out) that she was dangerous/poisonous- so I was being very careful with her.   I turned her loose right where I found her- the jungle behind these cabins.

I know this isn't a bug- but I also found these in Khao Sok- and it is weird enough I thought I'd share -

It is a flying lizard!  I had NO idea these existed before one fluttered out of a tree... (they look like leaves falling) I know I look zany in the photo but I promise I am not hurting him-  I just wanted to gently spread his wings for a picture- they look like ordinary lizards when scurrying around on the trees (also not terribly difficult to catch)

You said you wanted people to share their bug photos... here is mine:

I found this dragonfly in my yard a few years ago. I don't know what was going on with him, but he wasn't really flying or anything... he was sitting on a stick and he let me position the stick however I wanted. So he actually let me set up this photo so the sun was hitting his wings just right. I was hoping he wasn't hurt, but as soon as I snapped the photo, he flew away! It was like wanted his picture taken or something!

Wow- that dragonfly is beautiful- looks like a jewel.

I suspect that he or she was in the process of dying- either that or it just hatched (if you were near water)  that green color is amazing!

Have you guys ever heard of Igor Siwanowicz?  He has some amazing insect photos (particularly mantis photos) on DA

I love dragonflies. I wish all of them were as easy to photograph as this one was. I was near my pool, so maybe it had just hatched or something. I hope it wasn't dying. :(

I've never heard of that photographer, but I'll have to look 'em up. I love bug photography. :)

Honeycomb - I love your photos! So neat to see the types of butterflies there are in different parts of the world. We don't have these in the USA.

I have been a fan of bugs since I was little so I have TONS of pictures! These are just from this year.....

Woolly Aphids!!!  Love those guys!  Also known as fairy flies to some people.  They are particularly magical when you walk through a forest with them fluttering around you.  It is like the stuff made in movies.

Thanks, Emery!  The plant was literally crawling with them!  Unfortunately, as gorgeous as they were, they ate every leafy morsel they could find. I had to re-home quite a few of them with other people who had swan plants, and my own plant has never really recovered. I'm cringing a bit at the mo, actually, several butterflies have been laying on it, and there are very few leaves on it at all...

I checked out your facebook gallery - awesome! What are the caterpillars eating? Here in NZ they nibble on swan plants (I'm sure there must be other things they can eat, but I'm not sure what).
