Ponies who went for more than you expected
« on: September 07, 2012, 09:18:58 PM »
I just missed a Dream Beauty on Ebay who went for $60! Dammit, that's about $35 over what I thought she'd go for, and $20 over what I bid. :(

Who have you wanted lately that's gone for more than you thought?
Looking for: Alternate Birthflowers, Baity wingers, So softs - both minty and for deflocking - and DREAM BEAUTIES!

I think it's because the Dream Beauties are less common than the regular ponies. I've only found one, and it was at a thrift store. I bought her for $3.00, cleaned het up (and boy did shr clran up beautifully!), and sold her for $35.00.
As for me, there have been two recently that went for alot more than I expected. The first was Sweet Pocket. I expected her to go for at thr most $25.00, and i felt that was pushing it value wise. She went fr $42.00.
The second one was TAF Munchy. Ok, I know she goes for quite high, but she had a lot of nail polish on her, so I figured maybe she wouldn't go for as much as usual. Nope, she went for $38.00. I was really disapointed with that one because she is a grail pony for me, and I haf hoped to get her at a lower price (flaws and all).

I agree about Munchy, her price has sky rocketed! She used to go for about $30, but I've seen her sell for $70 lately. I saw a Winter Minty VII sell for $40 and I was really surprised. She's one of my favorite G3s, but I didn't think she would go for that much :)

Ooh I keep seeing loads of ponies recently selling for waaaaay more than they are worth... Like a pony lot that went for £46 the other week that had the most common ponies ever and only 6 or 7 ponies

Thats the joy of ebay! You are as likely to see a bargain as to see something go crazy high! The joy of collectables is they are only ever worth what someone will pay at the time.

In all honesty I have come to the conclusion I am no longer surprised on how low some ponies can go for or how high. :)
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi
Loa is my love god!
I love Loa more than PonyLady!
