New Kitty Hujoo Freya!

My Freya got here today and I am really disappointed and upset. Did no one try to take off the head cap, put in eyes, etc before they decided to produce her?

Of course her head cap was insanely tight and took forever (and ruined my nails >.<) to get off. The eye holding thing is a nightmare, and it would've been easier to just use putty. I sanded down the long pegs so it would be easier to get her head off again, but surprise! The two pegs at the bottom do not line up with their holes at ALL. And if I manage to get the tiny bottom pegs in, they pop out almost immediately so the other pegs will fit.

Sorry you're not pleased with her, but they do make it clear on the doll's information that shaving the pegs may be required, and that the head is very tight.  At one point there was even a link on the page about what needed to be done to make things fit properly, because things are really bad at first, especially if you've got one of the first runs of the dark gray and white.

I do agree that the eye thing sucks, however.  The one on my white is fine, but the one on my gray is super snug and I needed to modify it a bit.

I know her big pegs need sanding, which is why I expected to have to sand them down (and why I did so as soon as I finally got her head pulled apart). I heard a lot about the big pegs, but I never heard a word about the two tiny bottom pegs not lining up properly. Even Googling it today I couldn't find anything about it, much less a fix. I considered trying to sand them off entirely since the other pegs fit fine (with no gap) when the bottom two aren't "in", but I can't afford to experiment on her.

I somehow managed to squeeze her head together, but there's still a very noticeable gab all the way around even after squeezing her head together with as much force as I can. Luckily you can't see it from the front of course, but I planned to keep her naked and bald so its still an issue.

And to make matters worse her 16mm Hujoo eyes leave really big gaps on the sides. :/ At least they're gorgeous.

I tend to put in eyes a size bigger or so than the makers of any doll recommend. I like big doe eyes, so it also helps with avoiding the gaps that might occur in a smaller size. Sorry she isn't working out for you right now, Taxel... I'd suggest modding the head to take magnets like a BJD head, as peg systems in parts that need to be taken apart semi-frequently is aggrivating. Why Hujoo doesn't use magnets in the first place is beyond me.

Ditto! It seems pretty intimidating, but just taking my time has proven this to be much easier than initially thought! I'm already doing some budgeting so I can order her some sisters!

thank you   I want to do a grey one too eventually but I'm not as inspired for markings for one that color so she's on the backburner for now!

Overall, I'm really pretty happy with her- particularly since she was my first real face up- I'm working on a few MHs atm but they had to be brought back to square one due to a materials mishap >.<
