This seem too long to anyone else?

I ordered a book on Amazon August 27. I also ordered a microphone that day. Paid for both on the same day.  The microphone shipped almost immediately, and the book, not so much. Still haven't got it.

They marked it as "shipped" August 28 but it is September 6, and STILL isn't here. It was coming from Kentucky. Now Cincinnati is very close to KY. And now it's in Hebron, KY as of September 4 and STILL isn't here. Hebron is WHERE THE CINCY AIRPORT IS!! I can't believe it's not here!  I was waiting for that to help me with podcasting.  Well I went ahead without it because I was anxious to use my mic.

Seems a little long, doesn't it? The seller's feedback is all over the board with complaints about shipping and praise about it.  I don't know if I'm just thinking it was too long.

I am sure they sent it Media Mail which can take anywhere from 2-8 days. 

Did it state any sort of handling time? Because that could be the delay even if it was marked shipped on the 28th.

I paid $3.99 for shippping, and that says 4-14 days.  So it IS in the window, but still. I've never had a book take so long from Amazon marketplace before.

  I know its frustrating but it can take that long. Since its still within the time frame I wouldnt worry just yet

Did it go USPS? Their shipping seems to be really fickle right now. I order something that came across the country and was here 2 days later. It took something else 10 days to come from VA to NC. I'd give it a day or two after the arrival date before I worried.

I wouldn't worry. My packages from there usually take about 10 business days and we did have a labor day holiday where the post office was closed on a Monday in between that time frame. So I think you should get it within the next 4 business days. Amazon is usually good with sending stuff you buy.

I would never sell on there though. I did a few years back, and they stole my money despite me having a tracking number on a package that said it was delivered to the lady. So she got my DVD and her money back. It was Finding Nemo too! I had just sold it for some extra money for a birthday gift for my daughter. So then I had to scramble and sell some more stuff really quick so I could get her the gift I had in mind. That reminds me that I wanted to buy another Finding Nemo DVD now that we are in a better place financially. I love that movie!

It came yesterday. I think they just marked it as shipped and it didn't really ship until a few days ago. The invoice just has my name and the book. No price, no nothing. Eh.

Books shipped by 3p sellers on Amazon usually do take between that 4 to 14 business days, never rely on what it "usually" takes, they'll send it the slowest cheapest method possible. They don't set their shipping prices, Amazon does. As long as it doesn't go outside the delivery window then it's typical.

I've had many things take way longer than my intuition would think, and there are times they'll mark them as shipped but wait another week to ship them.

If you have tracking on it, then just watch the tracking on it, but yeah... it's very typical for it to take longer than a few business days, you're probably looking more in the 8 to 10 day range for sellers that have 4 to 14 day shipping. There are many times I recieve mine on the 13th or 14th day

That's what amazon seller shipping pages look like, perfectly normal. Keep in mind that when you buy through a third party seller on amazon you're often buying from an individual just doing this to make a little extra money, you're not ordering from the amazon company. So it may take them a little bit longer to get to the post office. But as long as the item arrived within the time frame, then the seller is doing their job.
