Please Share Your Pony Hairstyle Ideas

Hi folks,

Last Sunday was Father's Day here in New Zealand and my darling daughters gave me Sunny Rays and Lyra Heartstrings. The trouble is, it's been ages since I last did any pony hairstyling and I'm kinda out of ideas, so I was hoping people could maybe give me some ideas for these two ponies.

I'm not too keen on cutting their hair. The last time I tried that it didn't turn out so well. So I'm not looking for "show accurate" hairstyles or anything like that. Just something that looks better than their box hair! LOL.

If its not straight as a die or straw curls I have little in the way of styling talent but I love these threads to see the different options and bow in awe at peoples styling skills.

I am the World's most HOPELESS hairstylist - whether it is human or pony!
I have bought some in the past with BEAUTIFUL perfect "straw" curls........I even tried myself - but quickly gave up!

There is nothing like a pony with it's original non-trimmed clean, silky and shiny hair!

HOWEVER -  If you can't get some ideas from Kissthethunders MAGNIFICENT  styles - non of us have any hope!

Thanks for all the replies - and pics - everypony! There's definitely some great ideas I could try.

I can manage some of the more complex styles. They just take me a really long time to get right sometimes. I've done some pretty interesting things with my other ponies. I thought I'd just share a few of my own styles (the reason I've asked for ideas is because I don't really want to recycle any of the same styles, if you know what I mean):

I finally got around to attempting to style Sunny Rays' hair this evening. I was about to give up due to lack of inspiration when I dug up this thread again and had a look through the photos posted here and suddenly had the idea to do this:

Now I just need to figure out what to do with Lyra. My daughters suggested a braided bun for both of them. I'm not sure how good that would look, though ... I might get them to demonstrate on their own ponies first. LOL.

  These hairstyles are amazing! Now I feel bad for my ponies with their poker straight/single curled hair. Apart from Parasol, who has lots of tiny plaits! She's the only one though

I think that do on Sunny Rays is adorable!!! I seriously was considering doing something similar myself (she has a tom boy thing going I think ^^ )
