So how'd I do with this Gypsy?
« on: August 29, 2012, 04:49:39 PM »
I've been after her for a while and finally got one...kinda an impulse 'buy it now' thing (dang you bin) But she was about $15 +overseas shipping.
her symbol is nice and her hair is soft. She's a got a wee bit of possibly pindot on her hooves  but the biggest thing is the stain on her NDS. It kinda looks like old black marker. So with these flaws and the stain how do you think on did on her price wise and does anyone have suggestions for me to try to remove those marks?

It's an ok price seeing as you are overseas, and uk ponies are harder to find in the US so congrats on getting her anyway! :)

Not sure if the marks will be removable though!

Acetone, magic eraser and sun fading in that order are your best bet, as you know, on the stain.

$15 would be about right if she was in very nice condition but then again as you are in the US she doesnt show up for sale anywhere near as often as over here :) so you could say you may pay a touch more for one.

She is such a gorgeous pony isnt she?

One of the prettiest Gypsies I've seen!
I'm sure you'll get those marks off her no problem :)

thanks everyone, and thanks Hathorcat. I was sure sunfading would  be in suggestions but didn't really think about acetone. I've been a bit unsure about trying stain removal techniques, but I have a few ponies that could do with  a try, and then I may try stuff on  Gypsy.

I've been stalking UK ebay lately and wishing I could pop over there just to buy UK ponies for less money and much less shipping :P

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html

Except for the stains, she looks lovely!  I would try a little acetone on the marks and if that doesn't work, some sunfading.

Oh man, I KNEW she couldn't have been the 80 bucks I saw on etsy.

She's lovely, btw. Even with the stain.

She's beautiful! Such soft, silky looking hair :) I have a Gypsy with terribly dry hair :P Hope you can remove the marker!

Hit up a UK member who ll help you with parcels :) I know I do that for a couple of people - more than happy to help you out if you find someone who wont ship internationally.
