How do you end up with your baits?

I've bought several lots where I've needed only one or two ponies in it.  If the rest are doubles, they get washed but very often they're just nasty baits and just get thrown directly in the bait bin.  I also include ponies who just need a rehair in there too.

Good lord I have a lot of baits.  O.o

I have a few baits from a lot that mostly consisted of nonbaits. Also, I can't leave a G1 behind at a thrift store so I have a few from that. I don't customize so I really need to get these girls sent along...

Most of my collection would be considered bait by pickier collectors.

I buy ponies to restore.  Even some considered 'baits'.  Actually, most of my stuff comes from the recycling center (my cousin's dad grabs them as he works there, and she gives them all to me).  I just got another 5 this week... 3 of them were G4's, and I'll bait those as I have them already (and really, how many Twilight Sparkle's do I need?).  But I got a G3 Sunny Dayz from her and it had pen all over it.  I managed to clean her up nice, fade out the pen, sand the scuffs (she looked like she took a rubbing across a concrete floor, it was terrible) and my daughter loves her (i have so many Sunny Dayz, but I can't bait ponies for some reason). 

I'm actually really interested in buying a bunch of G1's!  Baity, or somewhat able to be restored, I don't care.  I'm a very easygoing collector (not picky AT ALL), and I just can't bear to spend much money on my collecting...  I just need to buy a rehair tool and start purchasing dollyhair so I can REALLY restore these ponies!    And I can't find G1's anymore.
