Wow that mirror is wonderful !! Have you thought about selling those kinds of things on Etsy? I'm sure a lot of people would love your work :)

I love shells too! ^^ I just graduated with a minor in paleontology, and I was always more into invertebrates, so shells and their closer and less close fossil relatives were also involved in my studies, I simply loved to study about them ^^ back in my second year I even had a full class on the paleobiology of shells, how I enjoyed that! ^^
being a paleo girl I mainly collect fossil shells, but if I can, I never miss the opportunity of collecting recent ones too (it's actually harder, as we don't have a sea, and our lakes' and rivers' fauna isn't so exciting) - but never living ones. I could never kill an animal for a nice-shaped or patterned shell.

Thankyou :)

I'm not sure larger items would work on Etsy, being in the UK and Etsy having a more US following, postage might get a bit silly. Although it would be OK for smaller items, I guess?

:cheer: Loona yay another invertebrate person!!! I've always been really heavily into my entomology too :D

Larger items would be a bit difficult for US people, but you can always say you will only post to the UK :) And it is perfectly fine for smaller things, though :D

Does Etsy have much of a UK following then? I always thought it was primarily a US thing.

It has some UK as well, I think. Personally, I have sold artwork for all over the globe so far, not only the US. It does, in my experience, give you a lot of exposure over time. People will start following you more and more often and you will get to be more popular, too. I need to go back to Etsy because of that as well.

But anyway, yes, there's a lot of people looking at Esty from all over the place ! :D

Thanks for the info! I will definitely consider Etsy when I'm more comfortable with some of the smaller pieces I do :)

Me too!  I'm a big fan of invertebrates.  Mainly sea creatures of all invert types but I also like slugs, snails, mantids, beetles, and moths.  I'm nuts about sea urchins, nudibranchs, corals, anemones, and jellyfish in particular.

it is cool that some of us in here share the same love.

I like shells, but I don't do artwork with them. I don't like collections glued down for some reason. You did a very pretty job with that mirror, but in my hands I'd probably take them all apart again. I never like to paint natural things either. Just collect them and display them in a pretty bowl or something is my idea, but I've no room for shells to be displayed right now.

Yay another bug person! :cheer: I prefer my land inverts to my aquatics but only by a margin :D I keep tarantulas, beetles, mantids, phasmids, roaches and molluscs, used to keep loads more but health issues decree I cut down.
