Doll ID Help: My Google-fu Does Not Compute!
« on: July 24, 2012, 03:43:28 PM »
Yeah... Anywho, I thought this was a Jem doll, but apparently not? (The hair is actually highlighted pink. lol...) Prolly a Maxie? I have my childhood Maxie, but this one has a different body.

She is similar to the Jem dolls I do have in my possession, but is smaller all around. The jointing is similar, as well, but she doesn't have jointed hands. Her back is marked as:

©1987 Hasbro
China H-1

I prolly will be posting more for ID 'n all. I'm in the process of downsizing dolls 'n other toys I've collected, but haven't had the time to clean up or display. Dolly hoarder, yo!  :hamster:

She could be a Sindy doll. I know Hasbro made them in the 80's. Maybe this one,

I am almost positive that is a Maxie doll.  However, I'm not sure which one.

Edit: So I've been trying to find out what release she is, but I just cannot place the hair.  The body is correct for the beach line of these dolls, but is it possible that her hair was dyed/colored somewhere along the way?

She does look a lot like the Maxie beach line...weird about her hair though, I don't see any with that yellow hair.  But I suppose if it was colored pink, the yellow could be colored as well.

Also - Not gonna lie, I got distracted by the Danse lying next to her, lol XD

Thanks, guys! After s'more searching, I think she might be a Lookin' Smart Maxie. The only Maxies that I actually have from my childhood are a Sun Splash Ashley and a Beachy Keen Maxie. (They have solid torsos, not a jointed one like this girl) I'm thinking all she needs is removing the highlighter and a re-root. She can be a pretty doll again! (Too bad I don't collect them)

Pm me if you're interested, Barb. I'm going to be selling what Jem dolls I have left. (I was going to collect them, but I'd rather customs. Danse also has her original orange mesh ribbon still in her hair) I have like, three bins full of doll stuff to go through. Not sure what's in there anymore. The one these dolls were in also has doubles of Strawberry Shortcake pets and dolls that I don't need, Keypers, She-Ra fakies, Care Bear figures, Barbie and MLP baits,, LLL's, etc...  :|
