I really don't understand why the movie is priced like it is now...and honestly, it's got me pretty sad about it. I had saved it on my Amazon Wishlist and had hoped to buy it for myself this Christmas, and I was absolutely shocked when I was going through my Amazon Wishlist and I saw the price. I just don't get what happened to make the price for it suddenly so ridiculous. Hopefully by Christmastime things will be sane again, but if not, then I guess I won't own one of my childhood favorites again. Sadness grande.

It turns up in the most random places...I thought I would never track it down and then it showed up in the bargain bin for £3!

Is this the one you are looking for?
http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/119936/My-Little-Pony-The-Movie/Product.html?searchstring=little+pony&searchsource=0&searchtype=allproducts&urlrefer=search&ob=Price&fb=1

I dont know what region this will be however as its a Euro site plus I do think its on the pricer side - its the only place I can think of that has stock at the moment but I would hold out for an offer if I was you.
Oh yep that's it! I actually saw it in my searches, and I was in total shock because it had the G2 ponies on it, and I wasn't sure it was even the same movie. I was curious if that was there because of the different region or if they rereleased it with the new art. I know it was rereleased in 2006 I believe? The front art still has G1 ponies though, but from what I can see it's the same movie.

I'm just going to stalk around sites I suppose and hope one pops up. There is one for thirty dollars on Ebay, and I could never do that.

This is the movie I'm meaning guys. I think I'm confusing people and they think I mean the movies included on the season disc set.
x

Definitely hang around and check any retailers that sell discount DVDs as thats where I found mine...at PC World in a bucket of £3 DVDs!

Yes, a lot of the G1 movies and episodes come with G2 artwork on them mainly because they were released when G2s were out so that was the artwork that distributors could source and use.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

lol, this freaked me out too! I have a German version of this movie DVD, and it also has G2 art on it - and a G3 logo! >_<  I bought it in a used lot (originally because of another DVD in it, but decided to keep this one as well), and I wasn't even expecting it to be the G1 movie (not only because of the fanart but also because according to the cover it came out in 2009), thankfully I put all the discs in to test them before re-selling some, I could have easily resold this too (as I wasn't interested in G3 DVDs).

good luck with finding the movie, madhatterda!

XD I actually bought my Movie and the second half of MLP & Friends (You know all the episodes NOT on the big box set like Quest of the Princess Ponies, Golden Horseshoes, Flight to Cloud Castle, Spike's Search, Ice cream Wars, The Prince and the Ponies and my Favorite Somnambula.)  For about $5 each at ToysRus.

Oh wow, why is it *that* expensive. It's laying on my floor right now, I feel bad for haphazardly placing it now. Haha! I really need to put some digital copies of it on my computer for on the go. :) Good luck in your search!

Well it seems on the first two specials 'Rescue at Midnight Castle' and 'Escape from Katrina' for the box set dvd they used the syndicated versions vs. the original.  The Syndicated version of Midnight Castle I had recorded off of TV as a child, and I never knew there was a lost song till I was watching it on youtube and all of a sudden the Moochick was singing and I was like '....Wait...WHAT?!'

I have the VHS and recently my husband recorded it to DVD for me so I don't wreck the VHS copy.  I found my VHS at a used book/CD/vinyl/collectibles shop in TN called "Great Escape" - it was only $9.99!

-jabs at with a pitchfork-

That's actually what my wife keeps telling me to do, but I cannot do that since it's wrong to me. v.v

Lol, I might be the only person that feels this way, but I really really do not miss the song not included. Much as I love MLP videos I cringe anytime they sing. Haha not a fan of those 80s cartoon songs.
