aahhhhhhhh spider attack

i was sitting on my comfy sofa when out of no where appears this big spider now im sat on the floor refusing to go near my nice cosy comfy sofa i hate spider especially big ones i dont think i have ever moved that fast in my life

I'm not the fondest of spiders that can get on me either. I've been bitten a few too many times. I like them nice and safe in cages.

I like to pick them up myself i love the jumping spiders the best. Sorry you had to deal with one it sounds like a wolf spider to me.

It was probably a house spider - Google Tegenaria domestica or Tegenaria duellica. Possibly a male on the lookout for a girly friend? It's a bit early for them but with all this crap weather we've been having they're bound to think it's nearly autumn!

well you can tell it is a male if the leg like parts near the fangs look club like or have what looks like a round part at the end. if they are long and slender it is a female spider but you have to get a close look at it to tell.

Love spiders!  You can get a cup and put it over him, then slip some paper underneath.  That's how I catch them and then I take them outside to my plants (I've had trouble with pests lately, so I'm actively recruiting spiders to my garden lol)

Big spiders! I love big spiders.    Sorry you got spooked by it, though. They don't generally like humans, so i imagine it will zoom off into hiding soon.C:

Yep males have enlarged pedipalps which they use to transfer sperm to the female

Spiders are awesome. You can never have too many spiders! *eyeballs pet tarantulas on shelves, model tarantulas and tarantula tattoos* I love spiders

well it was evicted by the love evictor that is my fella it actual was not as big as i first thought lol but i dont mind them as long as they dont get to close i kinda freak out then lol

There are no dangerous spiders in the UK so you really shouldn't worry ^^ I know they can be scary, but not dangerous where you are. Next time, will yourself to take a picture for all us spider lovers out here might help you conquer your fear

ill try next time to get a pic of it theres one big one that lives on our shed ill see if i can get a pic of it for you guys
