Anyone bought from lipin2012 on eBay?

I bought a Celestia from them yesterday and now I have 7 deposits all for $0.00, all in the same day. They all have different descriptions but are very obviously from the same source. I've had my account hijacked before by an overseas thief so I'm freaking out a little right now. They're in Hong Kong and the account is fairly new, looks like they started selling in February. Many of their feedbacks are from the same person and are marked "private". It was an impulse buy and I didn't check this stuff out first. If I had there's no way I would have bid.

TLDR: Have any of you bought from this person before and have you noticed any strange activity on your bank account shortly thereafter?

I've bought several ponies from them and they have all arrived. I've not had any problem with them as a seller. They even include a tracking number when they mail out there ponies.

I bought from them a couple of times and the ponies all arrived quickly. Did you use Paypal?

That's strange??  I am going to ask the same thing terasat did, Was this through your Paypal account?

And if it was do you have a balance in there or were funds being transfered from your bank account?  I am asking that because there maybe a problem on your bank's end.  It's just a thought.  But I would call Paypal first thing this morning to find out what exactly it is.

I did use Paypal but it's linked to my bank account. I don't generally leave funds sitting in there so it normally comes out by bank transfer. I don't see how that would enable anyone to get my bank info but when that happened before they somehow managed to make a duplicate of my debit card and drain all my funds at ATM's. They can do crazy stuff with the help of the internet.

I'm glad no one else seems to have had trouble. I hope that means everything's fine. I didn't get time to call my bank today and I imagine they'll be closed tomorrow but I'll be calling asap to see if they can tell me anything. Maybe they can at least put some kind of alert on my account to keep an eye out for suspicious activity. I'll update when I find out something.

  That sounds stressful - especially after what happened before, but at least other people here have bought from this seller without any problems, so hopefully its nothing to do with that. I would definitely contact the bank though , just to be on the safe side,  and yes do keep an eye on your account

This is an odd question but do you bank by any chance at Bank of America.. cause they are horrible and it sound like something they do

No, I bank with my local credit union. They were very helpful and refunded my money within a couple days when the incident happened with the duplicate debit card.

One of the weird Hong Kong $0 deposits did list Wells Fargo in the description though. The others had Chinese names a mile long or parts of my address as the description. It's like they were trying different things to see what worked for whatever they were trying to do.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I wonder if it is just coincidence or they really are connected. Have you called Paypal? When I bought from them I used my credit card. Paypal is not supposed to give out financial info regardless of the payment method. As a seller I don't remember seeing anything. I only guess the payment method based on the fees I am charged.

I didn't even think of calling Paypal. If my bank can't tell me anything I'll have to do that.

I'm pretty sure they're all originating from that transaction. The actual debit where I sent my payment lists the name Li Ping and so do a couple of the $0 deposits. Hopefully I'll find something out tomorrow.

Update 7/7/12

I called my bank and they said they couldn't tell me anything because they couldn't see anything more than I could see myself from my online account so they suggested I call Paypal.

I called Paypal and was told that what I was probably seeing was a currency conversion and that it was just bleeding through by way of a glitch. Normally that stuff wouldn't show up on a bank account as a bunch of $0 deposits. They assured me there was nothing abnormal on their end but to keep an eye on it just in case.

I've been watching my account since I noticed the odd activity and haven't noticed anything else. I feel much better now that I've checked on it though! Thanks for the replies and concern ^_^
