Nope :P

I've had breaks though, particularly if I find myself spending too much (this usually happens with Pokemon or Lion King though). Since I'm planning on returning to Japan sometime, I can't afford to spend too much otherwise I can't afford my flight ticket (and the admittedly ridiculous amount of stuff I ship back due to lack of space in the suitcase...).

Definitely not, but I have stopped buying simply because I have no money/room. I've sold off a few ponies I can live without/re-buy later with no issues, but otherwise I've got no plans to sell. I still love my ponies very much. :D

Every time I have money problems, I am tempted to just sell everything.

ive quit several times...problem is..deep down..its an addiction....break one collection and i find myself going crazy with another collection..and eventualy find myself back full circle....i think its more costly to stop than it is to continue....

Yes. Several times.
I've given up now, accepting that I do have my collecting ups and downs.

I stopped buying them back in 2008 because they were getting really expensive.
Then I started buying them again in late 2010 and haven't stopped yet  :P

I stopped for ten years, but I couldn't bear to actually part with my ponies and kept them stored in a tote hidden under the stairs XD I stopped collecting all the dolls I love too... thank goodness I didn't get rid of any of them either

I don't entirely know why I made myself stop... Told myself I shouldn't "waste" time and money, I suppose. But now I know I was being way too hard on myself! It isn't a waste when it's something you love and that makes you happy.  ^.^ :lovey:

Hmm well I just recently started collecting ponies, so I cannot say for sure on that. I did collect Breyers, Heartland and Peter Stone horses for a long period of time. I actually stopped when I was probably 19, and I've yet to gte back into it. I've never sold one off, but every time I think of collecting again I think of all the missed years. That's a lot of expensive horses I would have to get, and I'm so out of it I don't know prices anymore. That usually keeps me in check. I will say my mother is so sweet though because every year  she still buys the Breyer Christmas horse. I've stopped collecting, but I sure have every Christmas special one except the very first Christmas one.

I briefly stopped collecting G4s after acquiring Honeybuzz, since I had the Mane Six, Cheerilee, and the CMC and wasn't too interested in the rest of the other ponies at the time. Don't think it took me that long to resume.

I told my therapist (after buying a $100 Rapunzel doll) "why does the price matter if it makes me happy?" She agreed with me XD We could use a little happiness in this world ;)

I sold off a LOT of my Disney dolls in the early 2000's. Then I went to Disney World in 2008 and my love for Disney came back, fresh as ever! So now I regret the many dolls that I sold, but I'm glad I held on to my favorites!

Madhatterda- That's so sweet of your mom, aww :)

Not exactly...I did sort of stop for probably 7 or 8 years solely because I couldn't find any, but I never intentionally stopped, and went right back to it when I started finding them again. But since I rarely buy online, my pony expenses for the year are very low, so I haven't felt a need to stop either. Space might be becoming an issue soon since for now they're mostly in storage, but I have a little while before I reach that point. I have a lot of closets XD

Haha, yeah she's pretty awesome about things like that. I think we went one year, and I didn't get the Christmas horse. She was the first one to say "it's just not the same without your Breyer horse", so we went shopping later and I got it. My big collection stays at her house actually because I don't have anywhere to put them. I hate the idea of storing Breyers since they are so expensive. Mine have big book shelves everywhere. Her and my father are actually talking about building a new house ,and she wants to make display cases for them. Mother always understood the importance of collecting. She has this thing about Nutcrackers.

I haven't yet. I feel too ambitious to complete some of my sets... I think if I ever stopped collecting it would be because I am burned out somehow. I have always been into MLP since I was 2, so it could be at least twice my life from now if I ever started to lose interest.
