Good and Bad Surprises in Pony Lots

A week or so ago I won a lovely lot on ebay and was super excited when it arrived as it had various little things I was looking for...however also in the lot was a box/backcard...and much to my amazement it was one of just two backcards I have been looking for to complete my backcard collection! I think I am happier about this backcard than the rest of the lot which I had been so pleased to get! 

Have you ever had any lovely [or even not so lovely] surprises in a lot?

I remember this one lot I got on ebay about 10 years ago... it was something like $30 with postage (to iceland, from the states, so yeah... cheap lot) and the pic wasn't very clear, but when I got the lot... WOW. all of the ponies were MINT! there was a carry case full of accessories for all the ponies included, which were steamer (with amazing pink hair), a couple of sets of twins, several more babies and adults, and there was even a complete and mint baby buggy.

another time I got this lot at the local charity shop, some years ago... I had found baby sapphire with his (yes, HIS... a boy in my herd) ring but no necklace. I also found a spain/nc daddy bright bouquet. well, when I was in the car on the way home... I notice something around the daddy pony's neck: baby sapphire's necklace! I already had my complete baby sapphire since childhood, but this was still a pleasant surprise!

there's many other stories I could share... but these two remain the ones I always remember best. ^^

A while ago, I bought a big bag of vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls solely to clean and resell. Turned out, not only were some of the rarest dolls with accessories in that bag, but so was some completely unexpected pony wear, which of course I kept! The pony clothes may not be as valuable as the rare SSC dolls, but I was so excited to find them!

Thanks sweetie {{{hugs}}} - it was the UK Newborn Twins backcard for the second release of the twins...I have never even seen it for sale...there was a serious happy dance going on in my house when I found it in the box!

The final one I need is the UK Nurses...lol...now I am down to one I am going to be like a woman possessed trying to find it. Thanks so much for keeping an eye out!

The joyous gets were this BIG lot of 53 ponies that I bought for about 280$, in this lot I cot a VG/NM Mimic with unfaded pink. Then a smaller lot for 100$ I bought that had a VG/NM Flurry, High Flyer and a NM Majesty.
My sad one must have been my own childhood lot where my NC Mommy apple delight were severely discoloured and from another 100$ lot a scribbled over italy Peachy. But both of them have been treated with TLC and are almost back to perfect now!

Haven't found too many surprises... got one lot that had a petite pony in it that I wasn't expecting!

I had a rather horrid surprise when I purchased a lot of ponies from eBay and they arrived covered in urine. They were mingy!!!

Pinkamena - ewwww, urine ponies!!! They're the worst. I got a lot from the flea market that had urine and mouse poop all over them. Yuck!

The only surprise I've ever gotten was from an ebay seller who tossed in an extra pony with the lot I bought - newborn twin Rattles (or Tattles, not sure!) She was in great condition and oh so cute!!

A few years ago I had bought a rather mint looking Salty off ebay. I was excited when he finally arrived a week latter. Until I opened him and discovered that the well meaning seller had given Salty a bath right before sealing him in a plastic bag and shipping him in the middle of July. He was rather funky smelling to say the least.

Pinkamena - Ew, urine!  That's a really bad surprise. 

I remember once getting a lot off of ebay and, because the seller took a day or so to ship it, she threw in a Megan doll which I thought was sweet of her.
