You can always cover them up with acetate sheets, making the tissue boxes more resistant and letting the patterns be seen anyway :) You can even decorate the box THEN cover it with acetate sheets; that would be neat !

@talismarr - i did that too once and dug three of them out of my paper garbage and glued them together again :D
