Wouldn't you just love to snap one of these relisted-as-cheap-BINs up from under the naughty buyers nose? I wonder what the seller would do then.

I don't agree with people asking for BINs on auctions but I also don't understand why any seller would do it! Surely if you get that kind of interest you have to know that the item is worth more than you're being offered?!

Well someone got a steal!  I mean shame on the seller for not doing their homework.  I really think its sneaky to ask for a BIN when the item was just listed.  I can see making a fair offer on items that have been listed for a while with no bidders, but not doing this type of thing.  I really dislike eBay, but what can you do?

So..is the practice of asking for BIN's now condoned?

Personally I will never condone it, but it seems as though the community as a whole have become far more accepting.

I certainly don't see it as acceptable.  If the seller didn't do their research and someone gets a deal on the auction, that's one thing. Asking for it to be set up as a BIN isn't fair to the others who might have bid.  :(

I think to ask for a BIN on a newly listed item for way less than it's worth is a bit rude. A bit like barging into you in the supermarket and grabbing the last melon on the shelf from under your nose.
If the buyer had offered a reasonable price, then I don't have too much of an issue with that, but she was worth so much more even in poor condition. On the other hand the seller maybe should have researched the item when they were asked to BIN just to see why someone wanted to BIN.
I literally missed the BIN on this by seconds; if I or someone else had BIN'd then I would have had no problem with that as the person who asked to BIN for a silly price would have lost out and they shouldn't have done it in the first place!

I know this is a contentious issue, I do find it frustrating and there are two sides to every story. The above is just my opinion :)

I agree, it seems unfair for other members, I believe everyone deserves a chance! :)

That actually happened once and someone from this board got it. A fine day in Ponyland :)
