Question about Thailand Fancy Pants Babies

I was just wondering why these ponies are excluded from the Nirvana Gallery?

The Thailand version of them are the US release while the China version is the actual nirvana/European version. (To this day it doesn't make sense to me why they decided this!)
So I suppose that even though they're marked Thailand, the US release wouldn't qualify as a nirvana on their own. They're still adorable, though! C:

I think Hasbro may have used that set to test run a different factory. All US fancy pants babies are made in Thailand. In general, all of Europe got G1's a year or more after their US release. For that run, Hasbro had likely made the decision not to continue with the Thailand factory since no other "regular run" of ponies were made there, not counting the handful of Mountain Boys that have turned up.

Yep! It so strange to me, the US/easiest to find version is made in Thailand, and the harder to find one is made in China!

And even stranger, the only other ponies made in Thailand are the mountain boys, and *they* weren't sold in the US at all!

The year the FPs were out was a pretty major manufacturing year for the line - the number of sets is a little crazy! And its around the same time more and more of the sets were getting manufactured in China as well so I would guess in these years there was a lot of transferring work, testing new facilities and the odd outsourcing.

they thai babies are standard release, so not classed as nirvana ponies

the thai mountain boys are a different matter though only a handful have been found so far and we really don't know much about them yet.

Thanks for the info everyone. Half of my FP babies said Thailand and was wondering why they weren't in the gallery.

Yes they're standart ponies for the US collectors.
But I Love my Thai babies.

The Thailand ones do have a special charm! Everyone else has already covered most points, but one thing to add is that Sunnybunch and Bows do not exist as China versions, only Thailand (well, and Argentina). The other four baby FPs were sold in Europe in a set with two of the baby brothers
