How long have you been customizing ponies? I made my first custom at around this time but in 2011, so I just reached the 1 year mark .


What got you started? Well, I got introduced to ponies thanks to FiM, and when I found out about the Arena and registered for it I discovered the beautiful world of custom ponies . All the inspiring work of the artists here made me very curious about it, and since I love painting in a smaller scale it was something I definitely needed to try out!


Do you enjoy other types of art? I graduated as a Bachelor of Arts, so I love classic realism, oil painting and charcoal drawing . I'm getting into jewelry making now though!


Do you have any favorite customs done by you or another artist?
Well most of the customs I've done so far have found new homes, but the first Celestia I ever did is part of my collection .  She's very special because I did a lot of experiments with her!As for another artist's work, I love all the customs I've received so far from all the awesome artists here, but I treasure my ponysona Finesse made by Darkhorse a lot .
 

What inspires you?
That's a bit hard to answer, because anything can be used as a theme for a pony! If I had to choose something that makes me go into a working frenzy would be the fact that I'll be painting something miniature, because I just love working tiny!


What types of customizing disasters have you run into?
My most common mishap is scratching FBRs   especially when putting the head back on! I've also had cracks on the Apoxie or removing more plastic than intended when shaping with the exacto knife.

Do you have any favorite tips or tricks? I slightly wet the tip of my fingers when smoothing out Apoxie   as well as the tips of my tools. That way the Apoxie doesn't stick to my fingers or tools when working. Also, I rediscovered my dremel tool and the sanding and drilling bits are great for sanding Apoxie and plastic as well. Even then, having coarse and super fine sandpaper for sanding by hand is always necessary for those hard to reach or delicate areas. Oh yeah, and always save the remainder of custom-mixed paints if you're planning on using them later! Trying to match it again when you want to use it once more takes a lot of time!Also, when in doubt, just ask!

Are there any products you just can\'t live without?My 10/0 liner brush, Apoxie, and both my gloss and matte sealants (Liquitex Gloss Varnish and Testor's Dullcote).

What advice do you have for someone just starting to get into customizing?Always have a positive mindset when working   it's very easy to get frustrated when something doesn't come out right, but with patience, care and lots of love for what you're doing you'll be able to accomplish your design. Practice on paper before doing a new design on a pony, and remember that everything is fixable! Just open your mind to all the possibilities and have fun   .
