I totally misunderstood this contest ... I thought you had to paint a custom. I am kicking myself for not entering this. Not that the semi-finalists aren't great, they are.... and not that I had any chance of even placing... but... I didn't even TRY!

You had the option of doing an actual custom too, xkappax.  I was going to enter, but in the end, decided not too.  Didn't like the idea of loosing all rights to my design, for Hasbro to do whatever with.

Yeah, that's what I misunderstood... I thought it was a custom contest... where you actually had to make a custom... and I am TERRIBLE at that. I would have been all over it if I wasn't so thick and realized that I could just DRAW my pony. LOL! Oh well, maybe next time! Although, I sort of don't like the idea of hasbro owning my character, either. :/

Looks like one of the finalist got disqualified... It looks like the one that used the Pony creator thing on FB got booted.

It looks like they were all over the board in choosing quality. Sugar Sprinkles is my favorite and I like Sunny Sweet a lot. The rest are blah.

I didn't enter because I didn't want to lose my rights to the image. When you enter, you basically are handing them a free design that they might make money off of. No thanks.

I'm really surprised they didn't figure it out before. They could have easily made a zebra on their own

Ha ha, I was going to submit a custom . . . I signed into my Facebook page (which I normally don't do) in order to do it . . . and then totally forgot!  Oh well!  I missed the "must not have been posted anywhere online before rule" so I probably would have been disqualified anyway.  (I was going to post a G3 custom Twinkle-eye pony.)

My original theory was that they would pick all earth ponies in order to use the 18" G3 earth pony mold, but I was wrong on that--there are some unicorns!  Although no pegasi, I noticed.

There is actually 6 unicorns to 4 earths if I counted correctly.  If they do use the G3 model, I wonder if they thought a unicorn's horn would be easier to add on than pegasi wings?

I thought about this before I entered.  But in the end, I decided that I wasn't making any money on customs anyway (because I don't make customs.)  And if they did end up producing a retail version, then hey, I'd be able to buy the exact kind of pony I have always wanted.

Hasbro, I tip my hat to you. Not only have you upheld your own rules, but also I just noticed out of all your chosen finalists there is only ONE pinkish pony!! I am shocked and amazed!

I'll let her know, this has been a real boost to her confidence. She didn't want to enter but omg I'm so happy for badgering her, I think if I badgered more she would've entered her other sketch lol!
