Actually that packaging is more used for fair ponies than sdcc ponies. Almost all of my comic con ponies came in boxes without windows. I think last years was the first year with a window. At any rate....it's definitely an exclusive of some kind.

Ooo really? Sorry about that, my bad! The few fair ponies I have don't have the window-in-shape-of-pony.

Love the box design.  The SDCC ponies have been in the same style of box as the Fair ponies for about 4 years now.
