Yup, like the title says...I had my pony up for sale on ebay, she sold yesterday so I went to fetch her to post her off. I picked her out of the box I keep all my customs in and she's sticky! None of the other customs in there were affected, so I think it's just a problem with this one. It's still wierd, as I seal all my ponies the same way, with a watered down Mod Podge solution, so why would this one go sticky?I ran her under the tap, but it hasn't helped. I'm too scared to try anything else until I ask the experts, haha! If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful to hear them. I really need to get her posted off right away, and I don't want to send a sticky pony!
I never water Modge Podge down. I had a few ponies that were sticky because I used a spray sealer, I went over them with matte Modge Podge and it took away all of the stickiness without any problems.
I have that prob with some customs as well.I always use the same mod podge and they are all stored at the same place but some of them got sticky over the time.I tried to seal them again but that did'nt work cuz it was still sticky at all.Thought about putting them in the fridge, sun or wind lol - crazy ideas and not tried it yet.
Try polyurethane varnish, it doesn't turn sticky. I don't know what's with Mod Podge... I've heard about the stickiness issues in humid conditions but I have no idea why some ponies turn sticky and some don't. Maybe it is something in the pony like you suggested, Water_Fire. I have this one custom (apparently sealed with Mod Podge but I'm not sure) that has sculpted parts. The pony was sticky already when it arrived to me, but the sculpted parts were totally fine. I sealead the whole pony again with polyurethane and the stickiness is gone.
