Gauging Interest - Grail Swap (for July or October)

I know everyone is booked with commissions, swaps, prepping for cons or fairs, but what about after. This is for a swap idea starting sometime between July or October. Not sure which.

I was looking through various ponies and the want lists on the want boards. It seems everyone has a grail pony or a nirvana pony they are after. These ponies are either so expensive that no one can afford them in reality, or they just are so hard to find, that you squeel if you even see one on ebay regardless of price. So it got be thinking. What about a swap for customs of folks' grail ponies to tide us over.

I figure their could be a couple variations. What I was thinking is we could;
A. Create the grail as close as possible,
B. Grail in a different Gen
C. Grail pony in propper Gen, just a different pose (Nightlight in Bubbles pose or something.)
D. For those of you who have your grail pony there would be a remix option. Lets say you have your Ice Crystal but you want a Twice as Fancy or Twinkle Eye pony. This would be your section.)

This would be a skill based swap with random partners. Partner A gets B, but B has D...that sort of thing. There would be a Newbie Catagory if there is enough interest as we all have grail ponies! As I said I was thinking of having it begin in July or mid August after the Pony Fair and various Cons have settled down. I was thinking of a two month working time so folks can take their time.

As far as specialty ponies that may be a rarer bate - big brother ponies/flutters etc. You would probably have to list a normal pose pony or accept option D because of the rarity of some bates. Not sure how that would work out yet.

It would probably require 3 feedback for the newbie category and 6 for the regular.

Beyond that I think I covered it all. Ideas and feedback are welcome!

I don't figure it will be ready quite yet. Maybe start Mid June and finish sometime in August?

That sounds like a cool idea!  You could ask everyone which grail type they want...either as close as possible, or different gen/pose/etc..  Good luck!

This sounds like a great idea. There are so many grail ponies I want. I'd love a custom of Greek Ladybird or Ice Crystal (although I do hope to have him oneday). Sounds like you definitely have interest here, When does the Masquerade one end? Maybe you should do a poll about when it should start? I want to host a swap, but I am thinking of starting in October and ending in January (people's fall/holiday schedules can be crazy) If this one is after the Masquerade swap ends I'm in

you should add in the options of doing different versions of the grail ponies like making them into Twice as Fancy, or so softs or something along those lines, that way it gives it even more flexibility, like for those who may already have their Grail pony... like I have my Wind Whistler, but I'd love someone to do like a Twice as Fancy Wind Whistler.

I would love to participate in this. I have a lot of grail ponies, and I'm best at making Hasbro customs. Of course, I'd be part of the newbie section.
