G4 Applejack - styled and with sculpted hat! (lotsa pics!)

Someone in DeviantArt asked me to make a hat for AJ, and style a non-bangs version of her on the way . This is the first time I sculpt an accessory from scratch for a pony that is removable . AJ's hat is made of Apoxie using tin foil as armature and painted with shades of acrylic to give it depth . The design was inspired by the hat that comes with AJ in her barn set. It took me about 3 sessions of sculpting with the Apoxie, and a couple more with sanding (using both sandpaper and the dremel tool with sanding bit, which saved me quite a bit of time ). I did my best to make it show accurate, and I'm very proud of how it came out .

Also, it was also the first time I tried styling the mane with the boiling technique, and even though I had my newbie moment (got some hot water on a finger x_X nothing awful though) I'm amazed with the results!!! Those bangs are staying down for good!

Yes, I picked a section of the hair and pushed it to the front but what did the trick was cross-weaving it to make it flatter. I then did some boiling to the hair (pour hot water on the bangs) and it stood in place. Then I proceeded to cut it .

Aha! I was thinking of doing that too, but I think I'm way too scared that I'd mess her mane up! lol  Thanks for the cross-weaving tip; maybe I'll try that. I admire your creativity and talent!!
