Ponies on Vacation - Firefly and RD are turnin' Japanese

My partner has received her ponies from the Ponies on Vacation Swap, so I am gladly posting them now!


I was torn between doing Firefly and Rainbow Dash, since both were on her form ... and she wanted a G4 custom.  I compromised and did a Firefly G4 custom and styled/decorated an out-of-the-box Rainbow Dash!

Firefly was painted with a slight gradient; on her left flank she has her traditional cutie mark, and on her right flank I painted the kanji for "firefly".  Painted in acrylics, rehaired in a blend of Atomic Turquoise and Water Nixie.

I then styled Rainbow Dash's hair, cut her some bangs, and added rhinestones for fanciness.

Along with them I sent some Japanese trinkets and lots of candy, which Waffles promptly enjoyed.    I'm so happy she likes them!

Yup, they're hers!  And I didn't airbrush Firefly, but did a meeellion thin layers with a good brush.

Wow, that harkwork paid off, that is an awesome FBR!  I love the concept of adding the Rainbow Dash, and Firefly's design is fab!
