I thought you couldn't sunfade dark colored ponies because it faded all the color from them? But that Baby Ribbs looks just great!

I have a G3 Snowflake with highlighter marks I was afraid to sunfade... maybe I'll give it a shot?
That would take very, very long to get all the colour off of a pony.

Have you seen her? :awake:

@breyer that ArtTime is fantastic! How long did that take if you dont mind me asking?

It didn't take all that long compared to some (I have one pony that's been sunfading for nearly two years now!)  It was probably 1 - 2 months at most and it was the red eyeshadow (same as Love Letter's) that took the longest - the blue writing only took 2 - 3 weeks.  Oh, and this was during last summer.

I found before pics of another pony I recently finished - retro Sunlight:

Oh my! 2 years sunfading...that must be some serious damage! They look fantastic breyer...this thread is giving me encouragement to try sun fading again in a month or 2 assuming it stops raining long enough for the sun to look out!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

Yep, I went ahead and took a progress pic of Love Petal.

Here she is from Jan. 2010:

I can't remember exactly when I put her in the sun - I may have waited until spring/summer or it could have been shortly after I took the picture.  The pink lines on top of the red mark were someone's attempt to recreate the obliberated part of her symbol.

Anyway, here's the current condition of that mark:

and here are my before and afters!!

heres a german starshine and argie twilight
i ONLY sunfaded their bodies at first because i wanted to see the difference it made  :sunny:

I saw some of yours elsewhere and was just amazed!
I got a cheap, pretty grubby Lickety Split that I would like to try this on. It looks like some of yours were in slightly darker/worse condition and turned out wonderfully.

Darker ponies (especially purple and blue) can have their color leach out, they just need to be well-covered aside from the spots that need fading and checked every day! I have a Love Melody sunfading that I check obsessively because I'm paranoid about over-fading her :P She has a dark blue sharpie spot, which is perfect for sunfading on her because she does need to lighten back up there. But like I said, I check her obsessively. And her entire body is shrouded in painter's tape, aside from that one little spot ^^ Lighter ponies, like white and yellow, are much better for full-body fading when they get grungy.

wow, great project everybody :D

reminds me of my poor Italy Blossom... I wrapped her in aluminium foil... and that way her hair melted while sunfading.

Here's my Daddy Apple Delight before and after :) His wife got a sunfading treatment as well, but she wasn't as bad before as he was. Chief, on the other hand (who I sunfaded at the same time as them, right alongside them) got terribly sunburned :( And I have a Merriweather with a faded muzzle because I left her too long when trying to fade off "lipstick." Worst part is, it didn't even get all the lipstick off!
