Moral issue, kinda

Okay, so through the years, I have accumulated quite a cokkection of mlp atcs.
A few of them have my ex's pony persona on them, or mine ans his.
I am trying to just et rid of everything that even remotely reminds me of him, and I haven't touched my tax collection yet, as I know what's in there

For those of you who don't know, it's quite an ugly story, really, and I was treated badly by him in some ways. So I really don't want to have anything that's connected to him left.

I think you all can see my problem, but I'll just write jt out anyway.
What do I do with these atcs? They're lovely, Ann's the artists put effort and energy into the cards, so I just can't throw them away or anything.
Do I send them back to the artists?
From the top of my head I know I have art of him by sillysmilez and griffin. There are a few more, but I can't remember who made them.
I seriously love the are but I just can't keep it. What do I do?
I've never been in this situation before so I really don't know what to do.

maybe it would help if you posted them, so the original owners/artists might recognize them? crappy photos might be enough.

Lol it's not like I don't have a scanner but you have a point there.
I'll post The cards once I'm at my parents', I keep the collection there. Am at David's now.

Well you're free to do whatever you wish with mine, it's yours Considering the situation, I don't even mind if you just threw it away, I totally understand! Or give it to someone else, I think the original point of ATC swapping is that you can also swap cards made by other artists, or give them as gifts. Maybe that's a bit trickier since it's personas, I don't know if anyone else would care for the card... so go ahead and toss it if you wish.

I think it would be polite to offer them to the original artists first.  I can't imagine that anyone would be horribly upset if you needed to get rid of the card, considering the circumstance.  We've all been there at some point.

Hah sorry Lina if I came off as snapping at you or something - haven't gotten a lot of sleep these past 2 nights.
I still have no clue tho on how to upload pics through my phone si scanning will be the quickest once I'm at the right place x3

I'm glad your in a better situation though. I couldn't throw away the stuff me ex gave me, so I just put it all away. But I understand what you mean... I would love to see some pics

But because it's trades through the arena I don't really feel I can do that ^^'

This is a hard one.

One thing I would do (and I have had some NASTY break ups) is put them aside for at least 6 months. Put them somewhere not found for a long time. Take them out of the collection (so you can still enjoy your others!) and then put them somewhere/with someone for awhile.

Its better to decide later. While it burns right now, time will tell you what to do with them later. Whether you can look fondly at the art or you just need to get rid of the reminder.

Sometimes, your history becomes very interesting (albeit maybe 15 years down the road). My sister once told me that if I looked through the eyes of a great-grandchild, they might find this very interesting and have no other emotional attachment besides that.

suuuper slow answer, but well.

Thing is, I kicked him out almost 1½ years ago, and this relationship... has basically destroyed me. and I just can't keep anything that has to do with this guy.
the only reason I can see to bring it up with future children or grandchildren, is if they themselves are in a bad relationship. and that's no place for old atcs.
But thanks for your input, that might have been something to do if the situation had been different.
