Bumping us up.  I have a question for my partner.  I'll send it out.  My design will need to change a little bit depending on the prefs.  But it's a small change so I'm really not too worried about it.  I have one more set of sculpting to finish.  Then finish the detail paint and seal it and I should be all set to go. 

Did we list sealant prefs here?  Does anyone have a specific preference?  I prefer matte or dullcoat I do not really like glossy (except to highlight parts that should be shimmery like blood/eyes/symbols).  Does that make sense?

Hmm. I'm pretty neutral on what sealant I get, but I know I prefer to use Liquitex gloss sealant- it just seems to go on the ponies better, and smooths out the paint.

I too like gloss in small amounts and as accents, not on whole pony.

My fave is dullcoat, but it depends on what it is. Some gooey monster might need gloss, while I wouldn't gloss a ghost. Do what the piece requires, dear partner...

I'm happy with any sealant as long as it's not sticky and stuff.  I prefer matte, but for like blood and stuff, use what's necessary.  ;P

Edit: That did not work out.  I was expecting the sizing to be right but it wasn't.  *looks over everything* My measurements were accurate.  I suspect minor clay shrinkage.  Take two tomorrow.

Aww, much love for both of you! The shrinkage is part of why I switched to apoxy sculpt.

I know right! Well this was a clay I've never used before.  It's a special kind of eraser clay that when it hardens it turns into an eraser instead of into something that is actually cured rock hard.  So it's kind of rubbery.  Sculpey brand but I didn't even think about shrinkage.  If anyone ever uses it, there is a little shrinkage. And prone to crumble a bit if you erase really really hard. I have a test sheet to test the erasing capabilities.  If anyone is interested I can post a picture of my results for future use.

I am scared of Apoxie Sculpt I will have to use it soon for a project that can't be baked though. My wing problems aren't about shrinkage, they just don't want to work for me, fortunately, my monster pony doesn't have wings

I was nervous about it too, but once you're used to it, it's really nice to use. You just have to work with it a little at a time.

Just as a general warning I am allergic to the apoxie sculpt chemicals.  If you haven't used it before I recommend a barrier cream.  It give me hives and the fumes make my face swell.  I use gloves or barrier cream when I handle it.
