Limiting your collection?

I put up a goal for my collection my main goal is TE's. Sometimes I do find some adorable ponies, then I put them on my want-list but I often revise it and clean it out. Then there's money... You can't spend it all on dem ponies.
So I'd say I'm saving for ponies like factory errors, nirvanas and odd ones.. Then some G4s.

Money and space. I don't even have very many ponies, but I am already running out of space in my bedroom. When I move I will have more room to put ponies, but right now I have think....is this the pony I want taking up space in my room? Of course, I have a huuuuuge wishlist, all with ponies I would lol I also have to save room for my other collections, too. Not to mention that I don't have alot of spare money to spend willy nilly on ponies. I try to budget my toy buying so I don't have any "expensive" ponies, though if there is one I do fall in love with, I'll be sure to save up for it.

Limits? what are these limits you speak of.  No such thing when it comes to ponies! 
(Alright, I suppose available funds is one, and "entire scope of G1" is another...  if you want to be picky.  )

Hmmm let's see here- only G1, no babies, armies,  pony friends, SHS, sea ponies, accessories, wingers, playsets, and (so far at least) no single pony over $10. After actually reading that, I guess I limit myself a bit more than I thought! Although I have been a sucker for completing a couple of sets...but only a couple!

I keep my collection very limited, though it's never been a challenge for me because there are actually a lot of ponies that I legitimately don't want! The only rule is that I collect only the ponies that I like the most. For me, that means mostly G1, with a handful of ponies from other gens. Even within G1, I just collect a select few (well, okay, by "few" I actually mean about a hundred or so! It just seems like a few, relatively speaking. ). I'd never be able to limit myself to one type or set - that just sounds frustrating! So, my advice is to decide which ponies you really LOVE, and only collect those ones.

When I began collecting - I had the mentality of wanting it all but now I am more likely to just get the ones that really speak to me. I love all gens so this can be hard for me.

My Limitations I have set:
No playsets
No accessories
Not mutiples of same pony (Ie different poses)
Just generally pickier about my collection pieces (this helps the most)

I have a number limit
A max of 100 Ponies and 15 Monster High.

I've had this number for years and I've sold of some to aquire others. Once I only collected ponies I found at second hand, that was a hard time X)
But hey, it makes collecting more interresting

I figure I will meet my limit once I either collect them all or die trying!!! Gawd and if that isn't enough I have about 20 other collections!!! And now I just bought a house with a full finished basement, so I got all the room I need and am about to create a museum out of it all...Limit? the sky is my limit! oh and of course the color green, but thank goodness for trading!!!

My only limit is due to money !!

Well I have some stuff I don't collect 'cus I don't want to:
-Most G1 adults :
 I have my childhood ponies, going to get the 7 tales ponies (have 3 a.t.m) and the hair-do set (waiting for the last- Starlight but I'm going to by a new bangles some day 'cus mine looks like....poop..)

-G2, G3 and 3,5:
Only buy G3 to customize, I have some newbrons but I'm not going to keep them

-G4 singles:
I like the playsets so thats what I buy ;D I do have a single Pinkie Pie 'cus she is my favorite :3


I dont have any $-limit, like max xx$ for a pony, I'm going to buy Dutch Diary Pony some day!!

Neither to I have a max pony number, so far I have 97 and 5 on its way (party when I break 100-mark )

I love completing sets, so far I have 3 but when I get the ponies I'm wating for I will have 2 more (hair-do and teeny tiny) 

I would buy G1 playsets if I had time money to, I dont really have room for it, but I would make room!!

My only real limits are money and space. xD
Due to funds I've also been trying to stick to Sundances I need to complete my army, but I am expecting a small heap of ponies. Oops!

Though my boyfriend is going to help me build a spacer for my dresser so my ponies/dolls will be a lot more organized I can display more. I will forever regret not letting his mom buy me a very beautiful display cabinet!
