Oh that Locket is so pretty!

@svleonard - you should check out sites like this http://www.freewebs.com/shinigamiestelle/rehairingtutorial.htm for the  "how to guide" and sellers like Dollyhair sell the tools you need - our awesome pop-girl I think used to, and may still, sell a really cool metal rehairer as well but I am not sure if she still offers it or not.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

By far the most inspiring thread ever! I have been desperately going through my ponies in hopes I have some with bad haircuts, but I could only find one D; -cries-

I've been dying to do this since I got UV hair! Sunshine ponies usually have terrible frizz and your Beachball must feel much better now!

This is my first rehair ever! I just finished her a few minutes ago and I loved the new hair so much I just had to show her off!
Say hello to Perfume Puff Baby Yoyo!

I tried to style her hair several times before I gave up on it, it was holding her cuteness back... and I've been wanting a perfume puff pony for a while so I went for it! Made with 100% pure wool in a pale pink with a slightly off white/cream stripe.
I might get some scented beads or something to put inside her but I don't think it's entirely necessary. I just love to see her in my herd now, even with the pen stains.

Oh the inspiration this thread is giving me. I just LOVE what everyone has done with their ponies. I used to be so against rehairing in alternate colors because it "defaced the value"... but honestly now I get it; they're like customs but with more of the original charm!

Time to go buy up some ponies with really baity hair :D

All of the photos in this thread are gorgeous! Very inspiring!
I just finished my very first rehair project: Beach Ball. (I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'm putting her here.) Originally, her hair was extremely frizzy, and just in between the nylon shades "water nixie" and "mermaid". Also, she had beginning tail rust.

So, I went for mermaid, because it looks so much like a swimming pool. And her symbols remind me a lot of swimming pools. Also, I wanted to try out that colour changing hair! So here she is now:

Her hair looks a bit on the wild side, I'm not so good at styling, but I think it suits her. Like fresh from the beach!

You are really good at pony hair styling, Beach Ball's hair looks like a real pony hair-do original curls. No that unwished Dollyhair look at all.

May I ask where did you find the colour changing hair, can it be ordered somewhere or was it donor MLP hair?

Maybe you could try with a pony which hasn't got a hair match available? I was also against this alternate rehairing previously, but now I have tried it with some ponies which haven't got a hair match available. And it's really fun to choose the colours of your own :)
