Is it possible it's a plasticizer-leaking problem, but it's taking the pigment with it?

I had a Seashell w/ the same issue--the only pony I've ever seen like that.  So it does seem to be a purple pony thing!  Seashell did not turn that white when it color came off, but she lightened a bit.
Looking for CF Minty, excellent condition! (and maybe Snuzzle and Blue Belle)

I am sorry, but I do NOT unnecessarily be head my ponies. I hate broken seal ponies!!!!... Hypocrite- look at the beheaded Best Wishes in the background- necessary to deflock her!

The neck seems white as Majesty- best photo I can get, but it still looks pretty washed out...

I have a Seashell that is just like that! You try to clean her, and her purple just leeches out....the first time I had the drain plugged and clean water in the sink, after I was done the water was purple....

If I got one like that I'd behead her just to see if there is a color difference!

I think Elisto may be right that it is a plasticizer issue.  Many collectors have mentioned issues with Bright Eyes' plasticizer leaching out, resulting in uneven coloring, so it is likely that other ponies have the same issue.  Pigments containing red (including purple) seem to migrate/bleed/fade more easily than others, too.

Mine's head was sealed too but I eased it off, she's lavender on the inside. I dipped a cotton swab in acetone and was able to make a clean spot. The cotton swab is now purple.

Regarding plasticizer; it could be but she isn't sticky or tacky, just very soft. I don't have first hand experience with leaking ponies but I do have a couple of dinosaurs that have it. It's thick, brown and sticky on them.

I would guess its all down to a red pigment then...as we all know it notoriously the most unstable/fading dye in eyes and symbols...maybe we shouldnt be surprised its equally as prone to removing itself from inside the plastic as well..

Lol - Chip...I love the statement..."I do not dehead my ponies"...thats a good sentiment to live by...he he he

I thought maybe it could be plasticizer leaching the pigment out since a few people mentioned theirs were sticky or oily. All of my ponies that leaked plasticizer are oily, and the stuff is clear or white, but I've never had an issue with my lavender ponies, so I can't compare myself.
