Glory is lovely. I know lots of people would snap her up, or at least swap her for something more baity!

They are your ponies. Customize them if you like. But if you would rather do g3 ponies or g4 then I know people would trade with you in a rush. I really hate listening to the "oh no how could you" folks when I customize a g1 but they are my ponies and I can do with them as I please. You just have to accept that there I always going to be someone who will say something discouraging.

Pretty much this. If you're going to ask about customizing G1's, there are always going to be a lot of people insisting that you restore them.

Personally, the only one that I would keep is Glory. She seems to be in really good condition. The others I know I would customize.

I don't think that anyone that responded to this thread was "discouraging" or was "insisting that she restore them".  A post was made that asked for opinions on whether or not to customize vintage toys that we obviously have an attachment to and respect for, or we wouldn't be here.  There are newer and more plentiful options and some of us pointed that out.  Everyone was very positive and supportive of whatever decision was made though.  Why try to turn an amiable discussion of differing opinions into some type of  "us vs. them" argument?

Agreed. =)

I personally don't like to see nice or even OK G1s baited. I have a ton in my collection that I love but would likely have been baited if I hadn't bought or traded for them. Of course they are your ponies and it's obviously your choice what you do with them, and yes, they are common...however if common ponies keep being used as bait, they can't stay common forever. That's my take on it. =) Whatever you choose to do, thanks for asking first! I wish more people would! :heart:
