Sorry kids, older gens might be the embarrassing dad and G4s are the teenagers trying to be edgy and cool by talking about how much they hate their parents, but they're still family and what's most important to remember is that...Hasbro has made buckets of money off them all. The most upvoted comments on the customs compilation are the ones that ask people to respect the older gens though, so I think that's a good sign. But...if one of those customs were mine, I would be pretty hurt to see a number of comments saying "THE HORROR!! MY EYES!!" at my hard work

Wow, seriously?  Well, the post itself isn't bad aside from the "Celestia's put on weight" remark, but the comments section, yikes.   So mean-spirited.   Have they actually WATCHED MLP FIM?  Perhaps they should try applying some of its lessons on interpersonal relations to their actual lives, because none of it seems to be sinking in.

Well the whole post is in bad taste since, only by judging on the comments of the first joke post, people hate everything before FiM. So they only made this post to upset people.

That is interesting that Equestria Daily is supposed to be a blog. Their name makes them sound like a newspaper. Now it makes sense to me why all of the posts dip into the first person so much. They are a wonderful source of information to G4 fans, and supply so much important ponee information to the community that is not readily available from other sources.


 As a G4 fan, I visit the site lots for information, and to see occasional fan art. As an older gen fan, I shake my head and say "oh here we go again, avoid looking at the comments!" when they post cheeky stuff about older generations. They didn't really do anything bad; they are perhaps unintentionally just "fanning the flames". All of the "Eww hippos" and making fun of older gens is really getting old.


I just want to see interesting news and pictures without wading through the drama

I'm more... Disappointed, really. The whole 'love and tolerance' thing is just so hypocritical of some bronies (I use the word 'some', as there are quite a few of them who don't like previous gens but respect them for what they are).

It's a shame that, like LadyMoondancer has said, they aren't listening to their own shows morals.

(FiM is a show for grown-ups, of course, as any sane brony will tell you )

I fail to see how anyone can find this funny.  Personally, I find it to be in VERY bad taste.  My friend (who worked on the Pony Tales cartoon) and I have been attacked mercilessly with hate mail and had violent pornographic stories written about us by the more immature bronies and G4 fans.  I won't go into details here as I know the mods want to keep the peace on the Arena and have a hard enough time doing that as it is (!), but if people want to go through my old posts they'll see what I wrote on previous threads.

Do all bronies act this way and attack previous gens and the people who like/created them?  No, of course not.  Do I expect everybody to like all generations?  Definitely not.  But "jokes" like this certainly don't help in creating a calm friendly atmosphere in the community.  All they do is make the evil little kids in the fandom (such as the ones my friend and I have encountered) feel more justified in what they do.
