I'm loving all the photo threads tonight! Here's my family:

Sid and Chanel, age 5 and 1/2. Littermates I got from a rescue after my first cat died, they were rescued from a hoarder in a single-wide trailer with about 80-100 of their closest friends. They are on a grain-free diet for allergies that makes it VERY difficult to control their weight. Sid (short for Obsidian) is the one in the back. He is the alpha male of the house. They hardly ever snuggle together like this.

Chanel doing one of the things Chanel does best: looking confused. She's a sweet, affectionate little kitty, but she'll never be invited to be a member of MENSA. Highlights include: getting so wiggly about belly rubs that she fell of the couch, and facing it into the glass door trying to hunt a bird.

Sid getting his essence (cat hair) on my mom's clothes because he knows she's REALLY not a cat person.

My pit bulls. The brindle is my 17-month old female. I named her Sadie, her foster parents named her Joy, so officially she's Sadie Joy. Usually, though, I call her "Monster" because when she gets excited she makes these talking noises that sound a lot like a Gremlin. That light blue thing is a cloud print Snuggie someone gave me for Christmas one year. She loves it like her blankie.

The black and white is my 2-year old male, Dante, named after the slacker protagonist in the movie "Clerks," because he is laid back. He is my canine soul mate, my baby boy, the child I don't have, and the happiest creature I have ever met. A lot of people who "don't like pit bulls" still love Dante. Some of you may have read in my thread on WYP that he has to see a cardiologist Monday about an increasingly loud heart murmur and if the news is bad, I will die of a broken heart. I love him that much.

Sadie Joy feigning innocence and showing off her crooked ear. Her foster parents found her mom starving, heartworm-positive, and pregnant by the side of the road. Sadie was her only pup, and a lot of parts of her are crooked, including her ear, her tail, and her front legs.

Dante giving me his bestest, most poutiest look because he is on my spot on the couch and he knows I'm about to make him scoot over.

Thank you! They do that on purpose, it gets them treats :)

Seriously, my mom has been helping me with them since I got hurt and she falls for the sad eyes EVERY TIME. She is always cooking them some meat or egg to go in their dog food, or sharing little bits of her meals with them. This from someone who screamed when I told her I was getting a pit bull.

Yay for critters!

This is my baby, Drusilla (or Dru for short).  I found her at a shelter in Indiana, she had been there over a year and was likely to stay there for the rest of her life.  She was scared to death and fearful of everything and everybody.  I adopted her, it was a long road, but she is the friendliest, sweetest dog (and no I'm not biased! :P )  Not to mention excessively patient!  For anybody who is wondering, she is a Basset hound x Pit bull
