Monster High on eBay?
« on: March 16, 2012, 05:19:00 PM »

I'm hesitant to buy off evilBay but I feel I'm running out of options.
I can't get my hands on a Dotd Frankie anywwhere else!

There seems to be plenty of her on there, and I dont mind the prices, but with the qc on these dolls, whats to say she's not going to arrive with :muffin: Pony eyes or smudged up paint?

Does any of you have trusted sellers that you buy from or do you stay off there completely?
Any other thoughts?

the bad thing about that is a lot of the sellers, even the good ones, aren't DOLL collectors, so they don't really notice those tiny things like we might. Also? In the case of the meowlody and purrsephony I just got, there were paint smudges under their stock, so nobody could have known unless they completely undressed them before hand. Have you tried finding a member here who might be interested in selling? :D

I'm with MD, I'd try to find another doll collector online to buy from first.  I don't buy dolls online unless it's from another collector for the same reasons you mentioned;  I don't want to buy a doll with a cruddy paint job or unaligned eyes or something.

Maybe someone on the Arena or a Monster High forum can help you out.  I hope so!

Im halfway done removing the stitches from mine :/ my bad luck XD

For evilbay issue: you can always ask the seller for a good photo of the doll's face/paint.

Well, I've posted in the MH Bounty Hunters thread, posted a wishlist and linked to it in my sigge, but no takers.

Of course I haven't tried a MH forum, do you know of a good one?

Try: http://monster-high.livejournal.com/

You need a livejournal account and you will have to be approved by the admin to post/read entries, but it's made up of primarily adult collectors and has been around since the line's inception. They allow sales and wanted posts, so you may get lucky and find someone looking to part with one. I know that a lot of people had doubles of Frankie and Clawdeen once the Walmart 3-pack came out and people were looking to round out their DOTD set by getting Draculaura.

I hope you find her, good luck! :)

Yeah, the livejournal community is a really good place. I know quite a few people here also visit there (including myself).
