I just watched that a couple minutes ago. It's pretty sad to see.
I was wanting to get the kit off of their website, but it is so flooded right now that the page is barely even loading! Luckily I was able to download the free poster and I plan to put a couple up. I honestly cannot believe that something like this has been going on for so long.

Everyone needs to do some of their own research on this before supporting it. These links are spreading around like wildfire and I don't think most people even know what this is about, other than just feeling "moved" by the film. It is more of a scam than a legit cause. Please don't even think about donating to a charity like this until you know exactly what is going on with it.
Your money and efforts would be far more helpful at a local food bank or something.

I'm not saying you need to donate anything, I just want for people to see the video and read about the organization and then think whatever they like. But first, watch and read, because, honestly, there are far too many people just pretending not to see nor care about these sort of problems - an get all worked up about some stray cats. Don't get me wrong, I love animals, but I am much more concerned about humans right now.

You don't really have to pay to get involved. There is a free poster you can can download off the website and post around. Or you could just help spread the word.
The reason something like this has been going on for so long is because no one really knew about it. Spreading the word like this is helping get more people involved.

The scam, I think, is that Invisible Children actually spends a significantly more amount of money on "running the company" costs than on actual charitable causes. I haven't watched the video and don't know what it's about (I try not to watch those NSFL videos at the moment, because there's nothing I can do about it in my current financial state), but I know that big charitable organizations in general are often plagued by high running costs and low charity.

Not to say that it's not a huge issue (whatever it is); I just don't want people to feel obligated to donate to an organization that may not be doing what they expect with their money.
