DD collects G3-4, lets me customize her duplicate thrift store buys.  She never showed and interest in G1, me neither.  Then DH brought home a couple.  Then there is that darn E-bay...  Must resist Nirvana, have a 6yo who wants to be a doctor...

This is how I feel about ALL G2 ponies. "No, I don't need that pony; I don't collect that generation; they're not the style I prefer," is what I say, but if one showed up in my house (particularly Clever Clover) I would love it forever.

I can't stand unicorns. I only have Majesty as a token gesture towards having a balanced G1 collection along with only one pegasus pony, and I certainly don't want any more. Earth ponies rule, oh yes...

(If I happened to see Glory on my travels, I would get warm fuzzy childhood flashbacks of colouring cardboard cut outs of her likeness at my friend's house, and would have to buy her, all that leafy goodness, oh yes...).

Also, Daisy Dreams, Rainbow Flash, and Skywishes G4. (not star swirl as I have her)

They're just as plain looking as the normal release G4s! All pink and purple, nothing special about them! Dewdrop Dazzle and Diamond rose look way better and they're super common!

But, they're so, foreign, and rare, and hard to find, I MUST collect them too! But, so expensive, Whyyyy. D:

Mine is Dazzle Glow. I love her, but she is always out of my price range by just a bit, and I keep thinking I'll find her super cheap one day!

Crumpet and baby crumpet!  They are too darn expensive for regular ponies!

(but...I'm collecting the mom and baby G1s, and they are 2 of the 3 regular release, US ponies I have left)

This is stupid, but I keep going to Target and looking at the Canterlot Celestia and Luna set, but I won't let myself buy it. Not the fashion style ones--the little ones, with the derp-eyed Luna and the Celestia that appeared in the molded set. I already HAVE one of those Celestias that I haven't gotten around to repainting, I don't want another. And the Luna looks almost NOTHING like the character.

But eyes aside, if you aren't comparing her to the show's character design, she's a pretty pony. And I could fix those eyes. I could buy her and repaint her eyes and then she'd be beautiful, a beautiful blue little pony.

It's...it's almost like she NEEDS me to help her. I feel so bad for her. I can help you, Luna!

No, Rachel, you don't need nirvanas. You're a poor college student and if you're going to collect, just collect ponies you can afford. You aren't allowed to even look at nirvanas and that's okay because I know you mostly want to stick to what's more available- but don't sit there in your little fantasy of a young British kid years ago moving to the US and taking UK Baby Splosh, only to grow up and leave her at Goodwill for you to snatch up. Just because Hasbro made a pony with your favorite animal on it doesn't mean that you have a sentimental reason for you to spend a crap ton of money on it. You need that money for priorities.

*sigh.* But if only there was a way I could find a cheap one somehow around my little nick of the US...
