So I'm done rehairing.. Waiting on glue to dry.. and WOW. This is my first time doing super long hair, that is just the hank folded in half.. It took me 3.5 hanks of hair to finish her! I was going to widen her tail hole to make the tail thicker, but I was worried about running out of hair. Im just glad that I ordered two bags when I ordered more.

On a side note.. The pony base I am working on has perfect eyes.. and they actually match the pony I am turning her into.. Would it seem lazy of me to leave them? Or would it be seen as OK? It keeps a more Hasbro feel to her.. but my eyes are a completely different style.. Im just not sure what to do.. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I just need to glue the head on and I'm done with my partner's pony! I'm waiting on one (unexpected, but perfect) final touch to throw in and I'll be waiting for the address to send to.

If they fit the pony and look good, leave 'em. For me, it's hard to leave original eyes because they aren't always as...hmm...what's the word...sharp? Crisp? They look good because they're factory, but the pony is newly painted so they seem faded to me. Does that make sense? However, if they completely fit in with the rest of the look, then sometimes it's better to go with it. Man, I don't think I was much help at all. lol


BTW, I had my own question for everyone...I'm terrible at cutting hair for customs. It always looks weird and the angle off. If I were your partner, would you mind me leaving it long for you to determine the length/style for?

I had the worst time with the haircut on this pony too, MyHat! If I was your partner, I'd be fine with leaving the hair super long/ uncut.

I also wouldn't mind if the hair was long and unstyled.

If it helps any, one trick I have learned to cutting the hair though is to twist it into one long cord and just cut the cord, then tidy up any unevenness. This gives it a little bit more natural look for uneven ends and such. Or with curls, I snip the ragged end of the curl off.

Currently I am nearly done! I have kind of an alien pony though She has half her hair in, smack dab in the middle of her head, but I'm waiting on her final color.

Whew. I have a plethora of curls drying. I can't wait till I can take those straws out. btw, turns out boiling water doesn't pour out of a pot well and it hurts. I need a deeper pot next time I do curls this long.
