Well, since everyone has posted their fakie pic, here's mine (I didn't do the lanard... I saw this girl and thought she was so bad I'd have to do SOMETHING to make her beautiful)

The fins all broke off after the initial bake (I couldn't work with them flopping around, and so they snapped... but I can glue them back on before the final paint), but it makes it easier to apply all the scales!  I've never done this before, so it is TOTALLY a learning process.  I have to paint the whole body, too.  I'm thinking I may end up using a primer or something.  Oh, I hated her horn placement, so I cut it off and made a new one.  I also hated her rear end, which is why I decided on merpony!

All I've done so far is remove the paint and hair. I'm not quite sure what i want to do with her. :/

I did the usual for these... Striped them of paint and hair and such. The tails were rooted the same way that the mane was so I decided to cut a hole into their buts to get thicker tails.
Then I began to paint them, first with gold and then one color after another, and then adding another layer of gold on the jewelry to make sure that the lines were properly marked.

Then I rooted them and put in the tails like normaly.  I tried to make the hair crimped with braids and hot water, it didnt succeed as well as I had hopped and it stood up in a way I didnt want, specially the small ones, because I used Restore Doll nylon hair so I decided to make buns to get a bit of a controll over how the hair laid and this is the result.

Thank you! I actually mixed in a bit pearlescent paint into some of the colors to give it a little extra shimmer.^^

Thanks!  I figured the ugliest parts of her were the back end and the horn, and this seemed to solve that problem for me!  I need to find time to work on her again though... haven't really gotten anywhere (and those scales are taking FOREVER).

I love seeing what everyone is doing!  Sakuyamon, those are gorgeous ponies!  Wow!  I love what you did with their hair!  The bun is perfect!

So uh, to anyone who got the 'bright' idea to do a glass-eyed fakie like me ... be warned that their eyes FOG OVER if any acetone gets on them. Very not okay. Not sure which is worse - the eye that looks like it's 100% cataracts, or the one with a SPOT of fog, and is otherwise pretty clear. So much for easy paint removal!

I'm doing one that has the 'plastic' eyes... though I've lost her eyes.. I plan on making some new ones maybe out of apoxie or resin since i have another pony with the same eyes

Snapdragon - If you have a nail buffer you can use it to buff out the cloudiness.  You'll just want to use the finest grit side (the side used for the final buff/shine).  Good luck!
