Army Swap ***FINISHED!!!!!***

Oh my goodness, I am a poor student! I hope my partner will still enjoy their modest box. I have a surprise I am hoping to get done though! Glad I have more time, I can work on it after the deadline crunch beginning of April *whew!*

Actually one of my partners ponies recently went for more than the $50 swap budget on its own -thank goodness I already bought that pony for my partner early on into the shopping time  (.. but I wanted one for myself too having fallen for the one I bought        . It would have been ok and not the swap curse, cos it wasnt one of my army ponies .. I didnt win the one for me though *sigh*  )

I've bought a few, mostly baits and G3s to take advantage of combined shipping.

And I wrapped more thingies & found out that I bought far too little wrapping paper. They didn't sell the same one any more, so I had to go wit another model =P.

Talismarr no worries hun, I haven't gone crazy over budget either... I think it's important to remember that this swap had a $50 budget so as long as we stick to it and not go under it then that's fine, but we are also not obligated to spend triple the budget either

I hope my partner likes their box too, but I really can't afford to spend $150 on my swap box I've probably spent $75 so far.

I sign up for this swap with the expectation that my partner will spend no more than the budget, so anything more than that is just super bonus. I am just incapable of sticknig to any knid of budget myself - I like to spoil, I can't help it!

I have spent maybe $30 on ponies for myself over this swap time perios - I much prefer to buy for tohers

*grins* that's the only *bad* thing about an army swap:  since we all collect armies, if we can afford to we'll go nuts on our partner.  Which is bad, lol, Spark said to stick to the budget... 
It's just so *hard* to know your swap partner is missing out on all these ponies you see for sale since they are (hopefully) not buying anything for their armies.

I was bad, I bought 1 thing for myself:  an almost MIB mail order Blue Belle, the bag has an inch or so rip in the top.
I justified it to myself as being ok since I only bid the starting amount, lol!  but that was the *only* Blue Belle thing I've bought in (dang) almost 4 months.  I don't think I've *ever* gone that long without adding to my army, lol!

Of course I want everyone to stick to the budget but at the end of the day I don't stick to it myself...^^
 
Three months is a lot of time and you buy a little thing here and a little thing there, not much for the moment. But when you put the box together you recognize you easily doubled the budget if you count everything. I never stick to any budgets, no matter what swap, because of this...

I'm with you on this one! But as the others said, it's $50 so as long as you have that (or $30 as the other level was?) don't feel bad :>

Going overboard with my partners box doesn't mean I ecpect amy partner to do the same. I am in the $50 level and expect a box worth $50. Everything else wouldn't make sense

I agree with everybody who says that sticking to the limit is just as OK as going over.


I think that you can do so much for $50 and you don't need to spend hundreds to make a box that your partner will love.

of course I have  (- but I didnt buy anything that my partner would have got for me    )
 I...couldnt... help.. it      I havent counted how many ponies I bought during the time of the swap , or added up the amount though . Some things are better left unknown- right?!    

Oh and I also totally dont mind if my partner has stuck to the $50 budget - thats fine - that what we signed up for   -  so partner if you havent gone over, dont worry about it ok?
