Random Act of Pony Kindness custom for Enchantress!
She mentioned she hasn't received a custom from me yet, and she's such a awesome fun person I figured why not. I've been going back and forth between gift customs and commissions, I felt this was the last gift custom I do before I start personal projects between commissions.


She linked me her "like" list, and I saw Rikku on it...

Engineered pose. From a running dynamic pose, and the head of a raspberry-colored skater pose. Full body repaint in a custom blend of acrylics. Eyes painted in greens, browns, skin tones, oranges grays blacks...Re-hair job done in 4 different colors of pony hair:Golden delicious, passionfruit, caramel cream and mango tango.The blue beads in the hair are hand-painted, the red ones aren't. Outfit entirely hand-sewn and tons of craziness involved.Boots are a stiff dark blue material with real leather for the white portions. Skirt is a wide green ribbon with real leather belt and bags of which I sewed. Detailed in hemp. Used an eyelet to make a tail hole in the skirt as well. Rikku's weapon is aluminum flashing that I painted in red and metallic red acrylics and the gold pieces are beads I bought from Michaels.Brown gloves are a floral material. Brown fabric with gold flowers on it; wanted a pattern on it to break up the solid. Bows on the sleeves are individually sewn on.Scarf is dyed by me. I took acrylics paints and mixed with mostly water, and dipped the scarf into the dyes I made. Black straps over shoulders is bias tape detail with a heavy duty wire I shaped with pliers. Blue bandana is a wide ribbon I sewed into the hair.

Rikku is one of my root inspirations for art in general. She got me into video games, anime, and was one of the first characters I turned into a custom mlp back when I made my first 10 customs back in 2005.

Over time I felt I needed to redo her... so I did a more accurately detailed version in 2009:

Even after that, I still felt she needed improved. I had planned on making another at some point, and well this was my chance!

I may feel the need to make her again a few years from now, but until then, I'll never know.

Wow mana - seeing one of your "originals" then looking at a couple of years later to now, there are huge differences, you have come such a long way in such a short time - I am sure she will love it

She is gorgeous!  I think you really nailed her this time.  You can see how much more comfortable you are with you materials now, back in 2005 you were getting the hang of doing things your own way.

Thanks. I feel that picking up metal and leather craft this last year was what I needed to break away feeling that I was being held back on crafting certain details, as well. Leather especially has opened up so many doors and possibilities for crafting details; it's a mild challenge to work with, but worth it.

You really have come far!  The addition of leather makes your customs so unique and lets you achieve unusual effects; I'm glad you incorporated it into your style.  That was very kind of you to send Enchantress a RAOPK!

Seeing your work progress is amazing! The level of detail and craftsmanship is just stunning. I love that you continued to push yourself and branch into new territory. The metal and leather working details are incredible!
