I have only seen "Rescue at Midnight Castle" in g1, and this song (I don't know what its called, but its the one with Firefly singing to Megan) was in my head for weeks. Its such a cute and happy song!

Out of G4, I ADORE "this day aria". The title is very ironic (if you know about music), and its extremely powerful and heart wrenching. it could literally be a Disney song it was so good!.

What are your favorite songs from any generation of My Little Pony? The reason I didn't put any G3 songs is because I have never seen a full episode of g3, so tell me which ones are the best!

Also, whats the worst songs that MLP has ever had? I couldn't think of a g4 one on the top of my head, so I wanna see what you all have to say.

G1 : It has great songs like Call Upon The Seaponies, Dressed Like A Dream,There's Always Another Rainbow, Nothing Can Stop the Smooze, Escape (my favorite g1 song and one of my favorites from all gens, really underrated i think), Let the Bell of freedom Ring and We're not gonna freeze, but the songs that aren't great are bland and forgettable for me.Special mention to the one that Crunch sings, i wasn't even sure if it was a song the first time i heard it.
G3: It has beautiful songs like Shine On and Far Apart (one of the most beautiful songs in the history of MLP), and fun and catchy songs like Wish You Were Here ,Colours of the Rainbow,That's What i Love About Christmas.The worst songs are all the ones from Princess Promenade for me, a lot felt out of place and there just to have a song.
G4: I just love most of the songs here, my top 3 would be You'll Play Your Part, This Day Aria and The Magic Inside, but there are so many that i must leave out,like A Changeling Can Change, Find the Music in You,Smile Smile Smile,The Goof Off,all the songs from Crusaders of the lost mark...And don't get me started on the EG songs(i love all the songs from Rainbow Rocks on).Worst ones... it's hard too but i'd say Time to Come Together and This is Our Big Night from the first Equestria Girls movie.The movie itself was way too cliché and these songs are too.Also most of the season 6 songs, it just felt like Daniel Ingram was on autopilot

There are some G1 animation songs I like a lot, but I thought since most people will cite them, I'd go a bit left of centre with mine.

Obviously my heart is with the UK song tape that I have on my page and that comes up in conversation a lot. But other great songs from European MLP world...

The second japanese g4 opening is not official, however the two others are and i love them.I love the japanese openings more than the american g4 theme to be honest, especially this one:

Best song:  Call Upon the Sea Ponies.  CLASSIC!!

Worst song:  That gizmonks one.  It was a terrible song to begin with, but then they tried to do that thing where it was supposed to be funny that they were singing off-key. Yeeeah, it wasn't funny.

MLP Tales:

Best:  Sweet Music, sung by Melody and the Rockin' Beats.  Really catchy!

Worst:  Well, for content it would be "Boys! Boys! Boys!"  (Teehee, boys are such a mysterious mystery!  Ugh.)  But for tune I'd say the worst is the pseudo-rap in that episode where Lancer and . . . Starlight?  (I can't remember), go roller-skating together.

Best: Nothing Says Christmas Like a Pair of Socks, or maybe A Very Minty Christmas (the opening one).  All the songs in that special were really good.

Worst:  The Cheerilee / Rarity duet in Runaway Rainbow.  I think it's called "Far Apart."   They rhymed "so blue" with "boohoo" and I cringe every time I hear the lyric.

G4:

Best song:  I loved This Day Aria and the song that Luna, Celestia, and Cadence sing with Twilight.  (I can't remember the name, but they reassure her about her role as a princess.)  Also Art of the Dress.

Worst song:  Raise this barn!  Raise this barn!  No, don't raise this barn, I'm tired of this song.  Oh god, why won't it end.  Oh god oh god.

The Japanese pony themes do sound a lot like anime themes Although less reference to romance and more to other stuff

It autoplayed into Himitsu no Hanazono which is apparently an ending theme. Which sounds SO anime...but I actually like it better than the others I found

...I really don't feel the same with Far Apart.For me it's one of the best songs in all of MLP, even though this lyric is bad(can't really disagree with that) .I just think it's so beautiful.But different things for different folks i guess

A changling can change (seriously it didn't feel like it was even needed in the episode)

the Goof off (did it seriously even have a chorus?!)


I forgot about this song: The magic inside, this song was amazing. one of the BEST songs in MLP so far!
