Your Goals for Your Ponies?

It's a good question, though! My long-term plans are to thin out the UK's to the ones I genuinely care about, amass all the US G1's and G3's, keep the G2's and 3.5's at the same or similar level, and I don't know what's going to happen with the G4's. I can't really make plans about a generation until it stopped being produced, it seems.
My real goal is to have everything in my pony room on display. I have a fair amount of MIP's in boxes, and I want to be able to look at them and appreciate them. I want to have space to play with Paradise Estate, and I want the room to always smell like freshly opened pony.
And even if you didn't mean it, when I die my nephews will have a battle royale for who gets to keep the ponies. Maybe I should arrange for the battle before I die, because it will be an epic showdown. I could sell tickets, but all of you can get in for free.

right now all i want (pony related) is to have a pony room/office so i can sit back and enjoy them, im happy with my collection, there are only a handful of ponies i want, i think im done with G4's if there aren't going to be any new regular shaped ponies (don't like the new weird ones).
i was going to stop when i turned 40 but im still having fun and love them so much and i feel its going to be something i can enjoy with my little girl (6) she has her own collection of lalaloopsies and LPS but maybe in the future she might want to collect mlp too.

iv taken a step back from what i want and sold all my old pony cabinets but my husband promised me once we have the room i can buy a nice big cabinet for them all

Currently I want to clean, restore and properly store my collection.
I want to collect:
-all G1 US ponies
-all blossom variants/nirvanas
-as many UK/EURO  releases as I can
- All US G3 ponies
- All brushable/FS/SS G4`s (haven't decided about the new poses yet)

I want to one day have a pony room where I can display ALL of my ponies and playsets with a large play area where I can play ponies with my daughters.

I will probably sell the majority of my collection in 13yrs to send my girls to college.

When I`m gone I want the remainder of my collection sold for my girls.

If I won the lottery I would open a MLP museum/store (I already know where). It would have  a room for each generation, and a Nirvana room. Displaying every pony from each generation loose and MIB. There would be a large play room where visitors could play with ponies and playsets from the current generation. A mini theater where they could view movies and cartoons from every generation. A restoration/Custom room where they could learn about how to clean and restore new and old ponies and give it a try on McD ponies. Where people could send their ponies to be cleaned/restored/re-haired by a pro(not me and for a reasonable fee). With info from the pony restoration project. Possibly a room for fakies.  There would also be a store selling current generation ponies and merch, as well as vintage ponies.

If money, time and space are not issues....

A) I'll thin out and sell some of what I have now.
B) I'll buy what ponies I still really want and am still missing (i.e. Mountain Boys.)
C) I'll display what I keep is a designated toy room.
D) down the line, I'd like to give a lot of them away to my niece or a child, if I have one. 

I'd keep the really sentimental ones (Wind whistler and the ones my mom gave me.)

In a perfect world I want to get the reasonably prices G2s/G3s on my wishlist and gather up as many G1s as I can. Grails, wishlist ponies, whatever falls into my lap. I'm an overly sentimental dork so I want to rescue as many "baity" G1s as I can, like a pony retirement home. I have big collection room dreams with lots of coordinated displays and little dioramas. Next year when we move I'm going to get a basic temporary one to use as a collection room/home office! I can't wait <3

My goal is to begin to sort through things and simplify all of my collections to my favorites and rid myself of the excess.  I have way too many things and the clutter is starting to make me feel overwhelmed.  I am not sure how I will part with the ponies.  That will be a more difficult task, but I am in the process of determining favorites.  Maybe in the next 10 years I will have some idea of what I am going to do. I can tell I am just not quite there yet.

I want to stop collecting anything modern, any toy that can be bought in a store and let go of that part of my collection bug. Things that hold value and can be sold for a profit later make more sense for me to hold onto.
