Wig sprays on pony hair?
« on: November 27, 2016, 12:52:53 AM »
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but does anyone use wig sprays on pony hair?

I am currently sorting out my pony room, and some of my ponies have bad storage hair. Some are fine with a quick brush over but some have gone really dry and frizzy. I don't want to have to wash every ponies hair, and do not want to start using human hair products (they sit on synthetic hair and attract dirt, it's fine as a temporary thing but for long-term I won't use them). I'd love something that I can lighty spray on, give a quick whizz over with a comb and have it look better.

So, synthetic wig sprays. Yay or nay? I have had a Google and it also seems you can make your own up by using 50% fabric conditioner and 50% water. Is it really that simple?

the 50/50 spray works wonders on wigs to soften them up. as for pony hair, i have no clue, but if it works on nylon and kenekolon hair just fine, i don't see why it wouldn't on ponys hair!

I use the downey/water method on my ponies. It works great for almost everything I need to do with the hair. I actually got the idea from my MiL who uses this same combo on her own hair instead of conditioner. She used to be a hair dresser so I trust it.
Ive used it when using a flat iron to straighten frizz and tinsel to just wetting down for setting curls.
Leaves even the driest hair nice and soft.

I use wig shampoo and wig conditioner on my ponies :) I find it much better than human hair products:P
