Movie Merchandise Wishlist

I know it's a little early but what is everyone hoping to see come out in conjunction with the movie? Personally I'm hoping for alicorn versions of the mane six (always thought the series would end that way, but it could be dramatic in a film). Other than that, lots of new brushable characters.

I guess I didn't think of this at all...
Like, the merchandise of MLP is ever-present. It's not like...that Trolls where there weren't those *specific* trolls before, they are here now, but they will go away once the movie popularity dies down. This causes a few questions to raise...so it's a good thing to bring up here.

ARE they going to have movie-specific stuff?
The EQG's are the only ones with movies so far, and those would just kind of...throw some new outfits at the dolls and then let out a character or two you saw for a minute in the movie. Sugar Coat...What is even the personality of Indigo Zap? Did any of the 'new characters' do any good sell well as dolls? I keep seeing SourSweet stuffing up all the discount stores around here.

When is the movie?
I heard it got pushed back.
Does anyone know anything about the plot?
That could help predict 'likely merch'.

Well, I'd hope for good sculpts on new brushable characters that it actually makes sense to make. Also, I hope for movie-specific stuff that's NOT just throwing a chintzy costume on the mane 6 with "MOVIE" label box and that's all they release. Like if there's a cool villain, let that out as a toy, or if there's some cool item like the Tree of Harmony or something that might be nice to see as a location playset.

I could see them doing what they did with the G1 movie - that is, release certain merchandise/styles of ponies to coincide with the film. 

Like the g1 movie sold: so softs, twinkle eyes, the lullabye nursery, etc.  I could see this movie attempting the same.

If there's a villain, I hope we get a figure of them.

Also if there's a villain, I hope they're actually threatening and not lame.  So weird that G1 MLP had lots of threatening villains . . . except in the movie, where they were comic relief.  (I mean, they did some threatening things, but the tone of the movie was "ha ha, aren't they silly?  What silly characters!".  Really underwhelming compared to a Catrina, Tirek, or Somnabula type character.)

     I like the idea of a nod to the g1 movie. Sea ponies, so soft, and twinkle eyes would be something new for the target market, but older collectors would enjoy them too.
     And with the lineup of voice actors they have it would be remiss not to release some ponies for their characters.

Agreed! Besides, even if Reeka and Draggle were the bungling boobs stereotype, they did get the job done and Hydia's Smooze was a viable threat.

I will echo a wish for a villain toy! And I will echo the fact that I looooove the witches!
