So I know everyone is nuts over pokemon at the moment.

But I was thinking, imagine if you could catch ponies!! That is a game I'd sign up for.

The rare g1 ponies could be the hardest to find....just like in real life

There's actually an MLP version of Pokémon. Or rather, there are two versions: Ponymon Dusk/Dawn and Ponymon Anarchy. Both are great games, but alas, they are G4-centered.

I've actually been thinking the same thing for years - a G1 MLP Pokémon game. I got so close to doing it - I downloaded Advance Map to hack the names of the locations on a Pokémon LeafGreen ROM and wrote a list of 200 'Ponymon' (some of which were not ponies) to feature in the game (it was based around the G1 TV show, I believe - I remember you could choose Fizzy, Gingerbread or Whizzer as your starter Ponymon). Sadly, when I tried to download the software necessary for adding, modifying and drawing the sprites for new Pokémon, it crashed my computer, which was broken for months afterwards .

If there's anyone with the correct technical expertise out there, I'd say ask them to see if they can try to do it. Although I'd really prefer for it to be a PC/console game rather than a mobile application - I am not too big on the modern 'phones', to be honest.

But really, I'd request it to Hasbro! Maybe they can partner with Nintendo to create the game of our dreams.

Yes!  Maybe you could feed a pony that's hungry or rescue one that's tangled in some brambles.  Or de-Smooze them!  Maybe your avatar could be a pony too and you have to convince other ponies to join your herd.

God, I was watching my BF play Pokemon Go the other day and had the same idea! I thought it would be cool if it managed to span all known ponies however, and I'm not sure that would be possible on a mobile device, the amount of data required would be so enormous! 0.o

I thought about having to collect enchanted plushies of the different ponies that they could send at each other instead of, well, themselves. That would also explain if you'd trip across multiples of the same character.

Hmmm, I think I'd rather be the villain.  You could choose if you were playing as Tirek, Catrina, Queen Chrysalis, etc.
