Mommy Surprise Twins belly issues.

Why is it that Mommy Surprise Twins always has belly issues? Either the shaft doesn't close or doesn't open. And even so...is there a way to fix this without breaking the lever or damaging the mechanism further? I am planning to buy one in the future, but looking around on Ebay the past couple of months, I only see MST with issues. Anyone ever succesully operated her?

Cause it will depend on that wheter I will buy one or not.
