G1 my little pony comic information site

Hi Guys

I'm looking for a site which has information ( and hopefully pictures ) of what free gifts came with each magazine, well the gift issues anyway.

I need to match some stickers etc and really could use a guide, anyone know of anywhere that has the information?

I have a feeling that LadyG was compiling a database of information along those lines, or was planning to do some looking into it. I may be remembering wrong - this is based on a conversation at ponycon, but it might be worth dropping her a line? I am not sure if it's on a website or not, but I am sure I remember her mentioning looking into it some more.

The only stickers I clearly remember coming with the comic are the dragon ones, and I think they came with one of the magic pencil story comics, but I know there are more stickers...maybe some round ones? -and I cannot remember for the life of me whether they were comic related or which comic they came from...

There was some round ones they had for you to collect to put on a small poster that was in one of the comics. But that's all I can remember from the top of my head. I don't have pics of mine right now.

Thanks for the help guys Luckily quite a few of mine still have the free gifts attached but I have posters and stickers which are loose and i'm desperate to match them up. I also found a Wuzzle short comic in one of them which i don't want to sell until i know it didn't come with them.

You found a Wuzzle comic in one? I own all the early issues (which I know are the ones you own) and do not know of any Wuzzles short comic that came as a free gift with any of them. It could just have been placed in there by its original owner - I've seen it happen with some of my own G1 comics before and would not be surprised if that were the case.
I've been wondering about doing one myself for a while. My own G1 comic collection has been growing really rapidly in recent months (meaning I have access to a large number of issues) and I own a few rarities now, such as the first and last issues of both the MLP and MLP and Friends sets, as well as a Summer Special 1992, MLP and Friends comic 48 with its FREE GIFT still attached, and a Tales poster magazine featuring the Rollerskate ponies that no one seems to have seen before.

If only I owned a scanner *sigh*.

So it was you who snatched that copy of 222! Congratulations on that, it truly is a rarity finding such a rare issue with its free gift still attached.

I'm just missing 222 of the original run D= and 10 or more of the MLP n' Friends T.T
I just went thru my comics last weekend, I've so slacked looking for the ones I'm missing...hope I can have them all one day!

I only have one with their free gift still attached and I think 5 that have their gifts but not attached.

I had no idea it was such a rare issue! Is the kitty worth the same as the one that comes with baby katie? erm im missing 1-6 then own everything upto 180 then i have a handful of 200's, about 15 of mlp and friends and the first 11 of the g2 comics all with free gifts

I am missing about 20, but I stopped trying to get them off ebay after a few incidents of people contacting ebay sellers and getting auctions closed early. I think there was this one seller who had about 20 comics and she ccancelled my and other bids on all of them and claimed they weren't available any more, which was just not the case. I decided after that I'm only going to get comics from people I know :/ Aside from 3 and 4 I'm mostly missing later ones, from either comics I destroyed through reading as a child that I need to replace, or ones that the newsagent for some reason didn't get EVEN THOUGH we had a subscription. (Sigh, Welsh borders).

I had a comic as a child with Kitty as a freebie. She's the same as my sister's Kitty from katie and Kitty. I had to write my initial on her base so we didn't get them mixed up. It is probably from comic 222, but they're at home, and I'm here, so can't check. I have all 3 of the pets because of that, but not Katie the pony except on card xD.

Yeah. It's a shame that the rise in interest in G1 comics has prompted some shady dealing. It never used to be like that, but I guess it's a sign of the times. Either way, I'll wait it out till the comics I need come up xD. They will eventually. I know I've bought some from you before xD.

And yeah, I'd keep her attached. You still have her, so taking her off the comic won't make that any more true!

sorry if I'm hijacking your thread but just curious the going rate for common issues?  I wanted to get a few just for me own reading and the art work but not looking to complete a collection by any means or acquire rare ones.

Hmmm...
The early issues (from 1 to about 60-70) are fairly common. You can usually find some around on eBay (there are some on there right now actually) and it's unlikely you will have to pay too much for it (MLP and Friends are a different story-I recently won issues 1-6 from that set and the first issue ALONE was 9.50 GBP, and it's probably the easiest to find issue of the set).
The later issues (of either set) are pretty elusive stuff and tracking down those last few numbers can be an annoying business - you may be forced to buy large lots with quite a few issues you already own (I've ended up with over 30 duplicates in this process - interestingly, many of these are later issues) and also because the issues featuring the Tales characters are also sought after by Tales fans in addition to G1 comic collectors.
Mimicsno1fan- WOW... how did you acquire so many in just a year? I've got about the same number of comics as you, but it's taken me three years of collecting to reach that point...I currently own...
MLP issues: 1-109, 115-116, 142-145, 149, 153-155, 157, 163-166, 168-176, 178-182, 184-187, 190-192, 194, 196, 198, 200-207, 209, 211-212, 215-221, 223
MLP and Friends issues: 1-6, 22, 30, 32, 37-46, 48, 51
Other: Spring Special 1986, Summer Special 1986, Winter Special 1986, Summer Special 1992, 1994 Poster Magazine (featuring the Rollerskate ponies)
P.S: What issues are you missing from the 200's? I have a few mint condition later issues (duplicates from large lots) up for sale - let me know if you're interested.
