In the comics Sweetheart is more like a best friend to Teddy. At one point he wants to give a Valentine to Bon Bon and Sweetheart thinks it's a great idea. But in the show, yeah, Sweetheart and Teddy are pretty shippy. Personally I think they're headed for a trainwreck of a relationship.

In my opinion it's an example of abuse but I guess I oughta keep my mouth shut about that before I start a food fight.
My take on it is that they're a bunch of pre-teens who are still sorting out their hormones. They don't know who they like or what the rules of dating are... they're just kids who are new to all of these weird feelings. Teddy and Sweetheart seem like they go way back, like they have been best friends for a really long time and they're just now starting to maybe have feelings for each other. In the meantime, Teddy is discovering testosterone and has different kinds of feelings about Bon Bon. So let the soap opera begin!
